If you are a Powergen customer and are happy to go direct debit and manage your account online, then phone them on 08000682445 and ask for the sales team.Switch your tariff to the Energyonline Saver 2 and you can benefit from the new reduced prices from now.
Currently the tables on the energyhelpline site show a saving of around £74 between the Saver 2 and the Winter saver tariff for a £813 pa spend.Ok 2.5 weeks of saving is not huge but it's something.
If you would like to join Powergen remember to use Martin's link above so
that it can benefit the site. You will also earn a cash bonus once joined.

You are not permitted to advertise like thisHey folks...remember I might work for the company but I am a human and working in my own time, I will not responde to people who are rude, sarcy and crits me. My views and comments do not reflect British Gas and they are totally unreasponsable for my responses.0 -

My post is merely to pass on information which others may not be aware of and hopefully save them money.I don't work for Powergen or have any links with them.
The fact that I have also asked for the link above to help Martin's website is also so that I can do my bit for others that have helped me.
Hope someone finds it useful.0 -
Advertising??? Wossee on about!!
Thanks for the INFORMATION old chap. Most useful.0 -
Anyone in their right mind wouldn`t go with either of these companies, with Bgas the worse of the two.0

I'm was with powergen energyonline, their customer service is the BEST I have ever experienced, but I was willing to change IF the saving was big enough. Energyhelpline.com told me about engeryonline super saver 2 and that would save me £39 a year. I have just phoned Powergen and they said it would save me £35 a year (my figures might have been a bit wrong as I pay 1 amount for both and guessed the split), but I am well chuffed. The guy then asked me if I wanted to switch - OF COURSE I DO!!! I know need to tell my parents and anyone else who is with Powergen about energyonline super saver 2! (Though I need to stay alert as I have just read in another posting that the prices may go up at the end of April...???)0

alared
Please share what problems you have had or have heard about Powergen.I will then contact Energyhelpline and ask them why they have five stars.
Of course big companies will have customers who aren't always happy, but on the whole I think they do a good enough job and for me their prices are good.
At the end of the day it's just information isn't it?0 -

Please can you post the price increase article.
There are funny reasons people give for not switching. One of them is it's too much hassle. This is straightforward as all is kept in house with Powergen and it's done in a couple of minutes.
As for the £35 saving.......That's easy.If you can earn that in two minutes then you may not want the hassle, however I think £35 pa for two minutes work is brilliant....................What do you think alared?
Should bluejosiah take Powergen's offer no strings now or just get it at the end of the month?0 -
First of all B Gas,
Complaints double, wrong billing, poor customer service and generally a bunch of "merchant bankers"

One article from last Oct and the other from yesterday.
So in 6 months they have NOT IMPROVED and have actually got worse.
Don`t forget they have made a price reduction of about 16% on gas but have actually put up gas prices by 104%over the last four years.
With world gas prices falling dramatically,if BG had done nothing (which is really what it wanted to do)then Ofgem would have ordered an inquiry into why gas prices were not being reduced.
This is a company that has lost at least ONE million customers in the last year because of poor service, wrong billing and rip-off price rises.0 -

I used to be with B Gas, as did everyone in the country, and the local electricity company.
E Midlands electric were taken over by Pgen and about 16 years ago the market was opened up and you could change your supplier.
I immediately changed my gas to Pgen and gave B Gas the elbow(best move I ever made getting away from those rip-off merchants)
So you see I was with Pgen for a long, long time.
In Jan 2003 I made the silly mistake of going onto Pgen`s "duel fuel online tariff".
From that day until last Oct, when I finally switched to Ebico,I did not EVER receive a correct bill at the correct time for the correct amount with the correct readings and the correct discount from PGEN.
I have spent hours on the phone everytime they decided to bill me to get things put right.
I have heard all the excuses under the sun, been told a pack of lies, had my tariff changed without notice, never received the correct discount, had my DD put up without notice.
Looking back at things now,I realise I should of reported them to Enerywatch for their complete incompetence and poor customer service.
Ebico have one rate for gas and one for electric plus if you require it, a rate for off peak Econ7.
Plain and simple, easy to understand billing,no gimmicks, you pay for what you use AFTER you get your bill.
Best move I ever made.
One last thing, the switching sites get a fat fee (about £50) for everyone they con into changing suppliers,so don`t believe what they tell you as they have a vested interest getting you to switch.0
