Just phoned Powergen who have switched me to get this extra discount. While I was on, I asked her to review our direct debit, and we were so much in credit, our monthly payment has reduced from £100 to £70. Result!

So is this tariff different (and cheaper) than EnergyOnline Extra Saver ?

I think it's around £40-£70 cheaper pa than Version 1 and you can go on it straight away(if you phone instead of waiting until the end of the month.

Just to remind all the Powergen customers that even with British Gas' second price reduction,in my area Powergen are £4 behind making them second to BG.However the Online Saver 2 tariff for gas and ele with Powergen allows you to use your Tesco Clubcard to earn one point per £1 spent, making them cheapest for me.Monthly DD applies.Other areas may vary so make sure you do the comparision on Energyhelpline.com, Uswitch or similar.
Using Martin's link above will also help the site.
Remember to use a cashback website if you are changing supplier and clear your cookies BEFORE you go through.Reg and log in will apply. Some pay as much as £50 to you to switch.

I have PM all responders in favour of Powergen on this thread

You don't have to shop at Tesco.Just get a temporary card /leaflet in store.(Follow my edited post 21 on this thread)

Big question will Powergen go for another reduction soon?

We are in the process of switching from Staywarm to Powergens Energy Guarantee, would we have been better going on the Energy 2 online ?
    Staywarm cost was £90 p.m.
Energy guarantee wil be £74 p.m
    paying by direct debit

That will tell you which tariff you should be on.In anycase once you have decided a quick freephone call to their call centre and you can change tariffs.I trust you will go for the Energy online saver 2 as it will be a better deal.Don't forget you get Tesco points.Register the card or get a temporary one from the store and wait for a new one through the post. Then update number online
