    Morning all,

beautiful bright day here, but cold, the windows were running with condensation here this morning, will be the dehumidifier on today.

Need to drop dd odd at work this morning, then home to tidy through, and hoover upstairs, also need to list some bits on ebay, and nip and see my dad at lunchtime.

Dinner tonight will be lamb, mash and veg, there is loads of meat left from the leg I cooked yesterday, and it was delish, so it ended up not a bad price really.

Got some towels in the wm, its meant to be raining the rest of the week, so will get all I can washed today.

Hope all those in NY can stay safe.

    Have good days all xx
  • Good morning everyone :)

Well the weather didn't live up to it's promise yesterday so the washing never got dried and I ended up having to use the tumble drier for one hour. Fingers crossed for today.

Charity shops were a disappointment too though I did manage to get one top but they didn't have a changing room and it doesn't fit so will have to go back. I have some books to drop off anyway so it won't be a wasted journey.

Pilaff for tea with left over lamb mince cooked on Sunday and a tin of lentils. I bought a big bag of rice from Lidl for 40p but it goes very mushy when I cook it my normal way so I need to rethink that one.

Aim for the day is to find last year's bargain Christmas wrapping paper and get started on GDD's presents before she appears here at the weekend. They need hiding out of her sight!

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Have a super day :)

It was raining earlier but has dried up and the sun is trying to come out. Shame I have done all the washing, apart from four tea towels and some undies, that can definitely wait. I have an 8kg WM and it would just be a waste of electricity.
DH has taken DS to work with him and DD is still at her BF's so the plan is to check the Christmas pressie box and sort out what I have left to get.
I have all of the food, biscuits and sweets so that is another lot of things off my list.

    Morning :hello:

We lost Fudge Hen last night :( The girls put themselves away when it gets dark but last night Fudge refused to budge, she was stood under the little shelter we built for them, right at the back. Mr tru ended up lying on his stomach in the mud to get her out. She was acting like she was eggbound so we did the usual, put her in a warm bath etc. We wrapped her in a towel, brought her downstairs and she had a massive fit and died :(

It's sunny here but really cold. I'm going to keep the heating on all day, on the lowest setting. I've been sorting through lots of things and it's got to the stage where I've done all the big stuff, I'm now stood or sat still sorting through bits and pieces. As soon as I stop moving, the cold seems to invade me :D I'm almost finished and I'm bored. I was looking out for Christmas jobs but none were advertised, so I thought they might pop up a bit later. Went on holiday, thought they might appear when I got back and still nothing. It feels like they recruited while I was away :D It's not massively urgent for me to work money-wise, but I do need something to do or I'm going to go insane. Actually I think I've already started.

    Hi all,

RIP Fudge x We used to keep hens, and they had lovely personalities and kept the kids amused for hours.

Our 2 little boys, Eric and Ernie have been dropped off at the vets to get their errm "bits" removed this morning, OH wimped out and made me take them, so they blame me and not him LOL - they are nearly 6 months old now, and SO loveing, I felt really bad leaving them, I hope their okay later.

I,m waiting for a call from the cooker repair man, I hope he can fix it this week, cas we,ve got a party on Sat night, and i,ve already had requests for chocolate brownies and spicey chicken wings - They will be disappointed if the cookers not fixed.....

The house looks like a chinese laundry, OH put a new double radiator in DD,s room yesterday, and I was shocked to find most of her wardrobe under her bed, she has washed some of it, but of course its Mum thats lumbered with the majority - she has offerred to help sort the house for the party though.

Have a fab day all, I,m off to iron and dig something out of the freezer for dinner. Xx

    Morning all,

bargainbird ((((hugs)))) to you. On occasions ive been known to go to bed leaving the front door open but its usually on a weekend when ive forgot to check before i go up. Dogs usually get me up to be let out and i find the door unlocked.

JackieO i am glad your daughter is safe and well in New York. I must admit i fell asleep watching Sky News in bed last night. It was still playing away to itself when i woke up at 3. I caught up with the updates before falling back to sleep again. Ive just turned it off. Terrifying pictures coming out of the US. So many people dead and homes lost.

Sorry you lost Fudge Hen Tru. Theres no way i could have livestock as i'd get too attatched to them. Its bad enough when our pets die and i cant even think about losing my dogs... i think i'll be in perminent mourning.

Changing the subject swiftly, heard from my eldest son last night, he messaged my phone. I didnt ask how his recovery was doing. I wanted to so desperately but didnt in case it pushed him away again. What is it about men? I'm a woman and not scared by my emotions (just scared of not being able to do anything about them i suppose).

Not been outside yet but it looks bright and sunny. I'd give the people of the US some of my sun and i'd share some of their rain if it meant saving lives.

Oh and one more peice of news. My daughter who has now emigrated to South Africa is now been given the go ahead to adopt the very first foster baby she and her girlfriend had placed in their care. Of course they will continue to foster other babies but this little man has stolen their hearts. They are chasing paperwork at the moment. Its not easy as the childs biological father has done a disappearing act. I only wish her Stepfather was as proud of her as i am.:(

Tru I'm so sorry to hear about Fudge; at least she was being loved and cared for when she went, she wasn't outside alone and frightened. Sleep well, Fudge.

Islandmaid oh bless, I'm sure Eric and Ernie will forgive you.:o And it is, after all, in everybody's best interests, including theirs, that they're "done".;) I love the names - a bit like the little Lhasa Apsos Derek and Clive that I've looked after.:D Also on the local agent's books are a pair of dogs called Chas and Dave.:D

I've gone for very easy meals this week, as Mary is proving to be extremely high-maintenance, as she has an incontinence problem; I'm not entirely sure she's totally "with it" the whole time, either - she'll start eating her food, then wander off, and I have to pick the dish up and put it back down on the floor for her to realise she still has food there. She's very sweet though, so I don't mind.:o

But I am very, very tired, and getting up in the mornings feeling as if I haven't been to bed, which is not so good. Nor are the levels of pain in my joints - just small movements are enough to make me either cry out or swear with the pain. Supposed to be seeing the rheumy on November 13th, so we'll see if she has any bright ideas. The physio-terrorist mentioned carpal tunnel syndrome, but that doesn't explain the pains in my legs and feet - currently my feet feel as though they're squeezed into very tight shoes when I actually don't have anything on them. Weird!

Anyways, I heard on the news that Hurricane Sandy has been downgraded to tropical storm now; but I really do feel for the people who've been affected; @ the shark in the garden!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    morning All,
Hope all is well in OS Land

Sorry to read about fudge bird.

Had quite a busy one here. Even though i have the half term off i still have to get up to let the chickens out or they create merry hell. So was cleaning their coop at 8.

DW and I are just clearing the front room ready for the new furniture to arrive. Only been here a year, and thought we got rid of a load of junk when we moved. Well, it wasn't got rid off........it was hidden LOL.

sorted out 4 bags of old clothes for the school charity thingy happening next week too.

So all in all quite a productive morning. Nearly time for a spot of lunch then back to it.

    Take care all.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

  • Afternoon all

I am poorly :( I said yesterday I didn't feel quite right, and about an hour later my dinner re-appeared  and again later on in the evening too . I haven't been sick since then though. I feel very dehydrated, so am drinking so Dioralyte at the moment. I have come into work as I don't feel ill enough to stay home, and there is no-one around to cover me anyways. I'm just feeling sorry for myself whilst the 3 work kids I have are getting on with making posters for me. I'll finish a little early today, and go home for a rest.

So no OS or anything for me today. Still haven't felt like eating, if I do it will be toast.

Hope you are all better than me!
