Help! I have a very confused buyer!

I have a buyer that has bought two items from me.

He/she is trying to make payment using an i phone. But he/she can't.

This is the first message I received -

'Hello.. I don't have a computer and because I have ordered twice from you it wants me to pay from one! I don't no what to do?? Many thanks x'

- to which I resent invoice etc and attempted to help. Then I got this message -

'It still says I have to pay by eBay.com?? I only have an I phone! So sorry about this... What is the next option? X'

I don't use an iphone so have no experience of ebaying with one.

Plus I don't understand the ebay.com bit.

Can someone more knowledgeable help me please?

  • I think he's saying that the ebay app wont let him pay and its asking him to go to the ebay website to complete the transaction. You could suggest he tries to pay by logging into ebay on his iPhones web browser instead.

This, tell them to navigate to ebay.co.uk on safari, then scroll to the bottom and click the "classic site" this will then load the full ebay.co.uk as you would get with a PC

    second this
on mobile phones buyers cannot combine purchases, they have to pay for one at the time, missing out on any combined postage discount.
When it happens to me I tell them to either pay one by one, and I will give them a refund for the combined postage discount, or to use their browser (as per previous message).
If they have never used ebay on a pic, it may be easier and them and less hassle for you to get them to pay for each item individually, if it doesn't eat into your profit too much.

Apparently they've tried what was suggested above and they still can't sort it out. *shrugs shoulders*

I've suggested they send a postal order or cheque now, as there's not much else I can do.

Or borrowing the use of someone else's computer?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,

I've suggested that. They've just moved and don't know anyone in the area. *sigh*
  • If they don't have a computer, it makes me wonder if they have a Paypal account and whether their eBay account is set up properly.

I cant imagine trying to link, verify, update cards, etc without one.

I also find it amazing that someone can afford an iPhone, but not a computer!
People have odd priorities, I've seen people at the shops getting a trolley load of value range items, then whipping out their expensive iPhone while waiting to pay!
  • as someone has already said they can just use safari and browse like you would on a computer and pay that way
