My cheap - but ultimately unreliable - Hotpoint FDL570 has stopped working after less than a couple of years. Talk about false economy. I won't go into the exact problem but I've now come to the point where I'm giving up on it and am looking for a new dishwasher.
This time around I am putting reliability and durability before cost (although I do keep in mind that higher cost doesn't necessarily guarantee better quality). So, can anyone recommend a brand that they have owned for at least 5 years without having any problems? Personal experience please, rather than here-say. Thanks in advance for any advice!

We bought a Fagor dishwasher and are happy with it, but we bought it because it came with a free five year parts and labour guarantee. Few domestic appliances seem to last very long so we decided that if we bought this at least we were covered if a problem occurred.

Siemens are doing a 5 year warranty promotion at the moment plus cashback on some models I think. I just bought one. I haven't owned it for 5 years yet but the warranty is giving me comfort.0

We've got a Bosch - no problems over the last 6 years
Father has a Miele which is still going strong after IIRC about 8 - expensive to buy though but he's had NO problems0 -
Bosch. Over 8 years old and no issues.0

We have Beko dishwashers in the staff rooms at work. 5 years old, take a daily bashing from careless people and do two or three washes a day. I also have a Beko at home- £200, had it about 6 months and it's excellent. Definitely good value for money. And if/when it does break, just chuck it out and get a new one!0

Our first Bosch lasted over 20 years, albeit low usage as we don't have children.
Our second Bosch lasted quite a few years until we moved home last year and I sold it on Ebay. It still looked like new.
We now have a built in Neff in a 2004 build house that we bought last year. I assume it is as old as the house, i.e about 8 years. It works fine. The family prior to us did have children so it probably get plenty of use for the first 7 years.
Try looking on Ebay for a lightly used Bosch or other decent make.0 -
We have had our AEG for 12 years, never been a problem0

I have a Miele and have had no problems so far after nearly 7 years, it came with a 5 year warranty. However, it only gets light usage and is not used everyday.0
