  • What you could do is type it in a table/spreadsheet, then do a screenshot of it. Upload the picture to an online storage facility like Photobucket, then insert the IMG link in your post. It sounds a bit fiddly, but we'll help you with it. That way it will appear the way you want it to, & will also make it easier for you & others to add/amend things if necessary. :)

Just heard that yet another person off my PGCE course has been promoted to a head of year/department post...

...well I'm not allowed a post if I'm an undischarged Bankcrupt so can't feel bad I suppose... just shows how much this has been hanging on me, I should have been promoted by now. I was told to look for 2nd in department posts as a NQT by my tutor! I've just been going downhill since then, suppose the PGCE was a new start, an opportunity to bury my head in the sand again and focus on that but the debts and overwork leading to burnout have slowly crept up on me, threw myself into work not getting home till nearly 7 most nights and then workin some more after a quick bedtime routine with the kids... ideal way to avoid my problems, but I wasn't I was just bottling up.

    Another promotion.

Most have bought houses now too.

One is teaching in Thailand... guy who joined the same year as me at my school is doing the Far East tour too...

!!!!!!. Got to sort this NOW, finally, before I just bury it again, not deliberately but just from forgetting/not getting round to it, then the paperwork will be tidied up and put away to be dealt with "soon" which will be at least 6-9 months AGAIN...!!!!!!, !!!!!!...

    ...sorry offloading again...

...anyone want to buy some comics? Got hundreds of the bloomin' things, ex-stock...

    Hi Alan,

Once you have declared bankruptcy you'll be able to forget about all the harrassing phone calls, letters and bailiffs; they're removed completely once your papers are stamped by the judge. What you need to do now is to get to that point as quickly as you can.

If you stopped paying all your bills with the exception of rent, rates, groceries and utilities how long would it take you to save the fees?

Do you have any family or friends who would be prepared to lend you the money?

Have you got anything you can sell on ebay to help raise the funds? Your stock of comics for example, it's amazing what people will buy on ebay.

I know you already have a demanding job but is there any chance of offering your services as an educational coach in your subject(s); it would be a good time with the run up to "A" & "O" levels.

Draft a letter to any creditors you are currently paying explaining that your finances have been adversely affected by ill health and you are not in a position to pay more than a nominal £1 per month until the situation improves.

If you're plagued by phone calls change your number if you can; anything to give you breathing space.

Your one priority at the moment is to raise the fees for your bankruptcy, once you've done that all the other problems will disappear. Obviously continue with the budgetting especially if it's helpful but the importance of raising those fees far outweighs anything else.

Try and focus on one job at a time, if you let your mind start to wander over all your problems it only serves to demotivate you and prevent you doing things that really need to be done.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Rich

Good on you, Richard. It takes a big person to offer such an apology. Enjoy the weekend yourself too. :)

    Thank you wdiag,

I really didn't mean to write anything that was terse but sometimes the words don't say exactly what you mean to say.

Well done Alan for looking through all your accounts and adding it all up to find out what you owe. That was a really brave step forward!

When I was in this situation, I contacted CCCS and they were good and gave me a budget plan which I used to help me do the income and expenditure on my bankrupcy forms. They said I could offer minimum payments to the companies I owed money to but that really I needed to go bankrupt.I did go through the process of offering minimum payments but 2 of the creditors wouldn't accept it and kept on sending me letters demanding payment.

That was 6 months ago and I finally went bankrupt a couple of weeks ago and I know I made the right decision now.

Your head must be spinning with the amount of creditors you have.

If you do ring CCCS, they will give you a telephone advice session that lasts an hour and will usually take place maybe a couple of weeks after you contact them. It is worth doing as it will help you focus your thoughts and also if you go bankrupt, the judge will ask if you have taken advice and then you can say you have.
