Flower arranging rings a bell with me too ..... I lived with my grandparents for a while (DM was quite ill and DF at work so no option) and often had to go to work with my gran and she worked in a really old castle (great fun when you're a kid:)) ....
Thanks for reminding me / bringing back some happy memories :T

Declaring an early NSD number 3!!!!
The Ringtons tea chappie will be calling soon, but I already allocated some cash for that the other day when I was sorting out finances for this week, so I am not counting the essential purchase of tea and biccies.
And it is psssssistently precipitating out there so no way Pedro am I venturing out today! The moths will have to wait another day or two before I let them out of my purse!
Funny tale of the day....we have a carbon monoxide (CO) monitor in the dining room near the boiler cupboard. Last night it started screeching like a banshee and registered 40 wotsits on the screen. OH put it inside the boiler cupboard, and the number dropped significantly, so we are certain there is nowt wrong with the boiler. And the vent on the outside wall was not blocked in any way either. This morning it kicked off again. OH investigated and came to the conclusion that it was something to do with the Christmas Cake I baked yesterday and wrapped up and put on the dresser in the dining room.
No, it wasn't an Igor recipe, or even a Heston Blumenthal one for that matter, but I did soak the fruits in copious amounts of brandy and Amaretto for 24 hours beforehand, so we think the alcohol fumes wafted up to the CO monitor and upset it slightly....that is going to be some Christmas Cake!!One life - your life - live it!0 -
