    Did the owner pay out?

One of my dogs (since pts due to illness) got out a few years back, and bit another dog. I took the owner and the dog to the vets, and paid for the bills.

Sadly the owner also reported mine as a dangerous dog (which he wasn't, he just couldn't deal with fear by running away) which came to nothing. If I'd have known they'd do that, I'd have re-considered my moral obligations...

Cant see OP answering your question. They have been active across MSE as recently as yesterday but are conveniently forgetting both this and the other thread they started.

Don't think the threads went quite the way they had intended ;)

I certainly wasn't getting at anyone on benefits, or the users of the PDSA. People's circumstances can change overnight. I struggle to pay my bills and the dog's insurance which has doubled from £64 a month to over £130 a month. I wish I could use the PDSA. I did have a spate, when I did use the PDSA, it was years ago when I was looking after my father who had Alzheimers, I had run my business right down to look after him. I wasn't on any benefit, but my father qualified. There were people going there with pedigree pups and big flashy cars in the car park. My dog was a pedigree and I don't have objections to that either. I'm not saying at all that people on benefits shouldn't be able to have pets, in fact, they are often the best people to have them in that they can perhaps be with their pets more.
It was the fact that the OP had just bought a GSD pup and then another dog, whilst on benefits and knowing that they couldn't afford vet's treatment for them if they got sick that I objected to. If they couldn't afford to pay for treatment if they got sick, can they really afford the upkeep of two dogs? Wouldn't the money they spent on buying the second dog have been better being put aside to care for their first dog?

What on earth were you thinking to take a poor pup away from his mum/siblings at just 6wks of age?? I do hope you're prepared for all the psychological/socialisation problems you'll face with him :(

'he's a good pup' *sighs*.He should still have been with his mother and litter mates. He'll likely have problems you'll have to deal with.Bite inhibition is learnt with mum and litter mates too, around 6-8 weeks I believe?

Nobody should ever buy a pup so young.

Nobody should vaccinate by the ages op states. The pup would still have had it's mothers antibodies present at the time it allegedly had it's first jab. From what I've been told that would render the jab utterly useless and nothing gained from it.Also, you keep them in for a week after the second.

Op,you should have had your poor pup on a lead fgs what on earth where you thinking? And he's trained eh?:rotfl:

That's like saying a 3 month old baby is a good baby - they don't know anything else.

In a few months time he'll be wanting to play, and puppys use their teeth to play with one another, only he hasn't been with his Mum and litter mates for long enough to learn how to play without hurting, so that will be your job. He's also got to learn how to interact with other dogs - again, that's your job now. Mum would also have taught him a lot about where he's supposed to go to the toilet (if she'd been allowed to) - but again, that's your job.

Someone online? Now why doesn't that surprise me?
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Sigh.................there are always going to be stupid people, like the above, who actively encourage irresponsible breeding/ breeders.

While there are idiots about, then they will allow these people to keep breeding.
