You are clever MyUserNamesTaken - but tell me, I want to do this for me and my daughter. Will we need to obtain 2 seperate receipts? (Not that this is a problem, just need to know in advance.)
ALSO does anyone with any experience know if you can add other services, like colours, to this offer and pay for them on top?
thanksStop looking for answers....

You will need two separate receipts, I'm afraid. I'm fairly certain the salon won't have a problem adding extra services as long as you pay on top. You have to agree to a £30 no show fee when signing up for this. I guess that means they reckon the value of the haircut is £30.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

What’s the deal?
Herbal Essences is giving away free hair cuts with special bottles of shampoo, meaning you can get a cut and blow dry for just £2.80.
How to grab a free hairdo
First check that there’s a participating salon near you. Then buy a special bottle of Herbal Essences shampoo (c. £2.70) and enter the 10 digit code here, as instructed.
Fill out the application form and send it, along with your receipt and an A5 S.A.E, to: Herbal Essence Haircut Offer, PO Box 468, Swansea, SA1 3WY
You’ll be sent a voucher for a free cut and blow dry, to use at your chosen salon. Read the full T&Cs
Pamper a pal for free
As if all this wasn't bargainous enough, Tesco is doing 2for1 on Herbal Essences shampoo until Tues 24 April, so you can treat a mate for nowt.
Thanks to debjk for the original post.
Martin, the last bit of your post is incorrect. Even if you use Tesco's BOGOF deal, you will still only be able to get one haircut voucher, as you need to send in the receipt for each purchase. You will only be given one receipt by Tesco for the BOGOF purchase, therefore only have one receipt to send in. One receipt sent in means only one voucher for a haircut. Also, many Tescos don't have the promotional bottles in, which is why I posted the batch code for one of the promo bottles in my above post. As far as I am concerned, as long as you can show that you've purchased Herbal Essences (with or without the promo on the bottle), you should be allowed to use the batch code above to get a free hair cut. It's not the customer's fault that Tesco doesn't seem to have the promo bottles in (well, most of the lines they stock aren't in the promo bottles). In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

It may be easier if you were to put one through, then ask for a subtotal, then continue with the rest of the shopping.
This will result in a receipt that you could cut in half below the subtotal.
However, the date and time of purchase is only printed at the bottom of the complete bill.0 -
Got my bottle at a local Wilkinsons - £1.44 for a small bottle.

Re the mention of condoms higher up - go for regular checks at your GU clinic (however 'safe' you consider yourself to be) and you'll get these for nowt.0 -
Is there anyway to find out the name of the actual salon in an area participating in the promotion?0

CLick on the words "near you" in the quote above and you will be taken to a map to click on your area. Sadly, there are no salons in Edinburgh so it's not a cheap hairdo for us!0 -

c:card is a free condom service in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
It's quick and easy to get free condoms through the c:card network. They don't need your name or address. All they need is your date of birth and the first part of your postcode.
All you have to do is go to the c:card point which is right for you.
My doctor's surgery does it. You just hand over a little plastic card at reception, you don't have to say anything, and they give you back a supply in a brown paper bag!

Did as you suggested and was able to locate the name of my home town, as the OP enabled me to do.
What onzey was asking, and what I, too, would like to know, is if there is a way of finding out the names of the salons involved. It makes quite a dfference if you live in a large town or some distance from the nearest participating town as transport to and from the salon has to be taken into account0
