I've used Head and Shoulders all my life until recently. Just finished my first bottle of Sainsburys anti dandruff and I don't think it's any different (maybe a tad more watery than brand named version).

I'm now onto Boots ownbrand anti dandruff shampoo (used my piggy points to claim a £10 boots voucher).

We use Basics bubble bath, Basics soap, Basics hand wash.

The only thing I can't scrimp on is deoderant (get rashes) and toothpaste...do shops do a sensitive own brand toothpaste?

I shall give some of the conditioners mentioned in this thread a go when I run out of my stockpile of BOGOF original source!
Boots do their own value range. Their shampoo is 33p and the conditioner is 34p. They also do toothpaste for 19p and soap for 26p amongst other things. They are all very good.
I didn't see these. Will have a better look next time (or maybe my store was too small to stock them?). Thank you.

There is a boots thread on grabbit that tells you the current offers in the advantage machine. Home bargains is great, I got 3 laundry stain pens for 99p each the other day. the only other place I'd seen them is our dry cleaners at £2.99 each, but went in again and all gone. Wilkos are more consistent with what they stock.

When I got Martins 1st book there was a bit in there about 'getting to know your own town' and I think that's true. I live in a large market town and there is often Badedas shower gel on sale for £1.

Hello to Lazy Line Painter Jane and welcome! I was like this when I saw what your name meant  but then :rotfl:!

May I ask if you have signed up for pigsback? http://www.pigsback.com

You can get Boots vouchers on there when you have accumulated enough points which means you can get stuff free!

You just look for purple squares (click thrus) and enter competitions, sign up for newsletters etc and the point soon amass.

There is a pigsback thread on the "Freebies" board too which is updated every day for ways to collect points.

    Just a thought.

    Hi there LLPJ

My son also has eczma that comes and goes. we went through the usual potions, but the one that worked was the Aveeno oil for the bath and Aveeno cream for after. Funnily enough this is a oat based product, so the previous posters mentioning of oats is a good tip!.

However I have both of these on repeat presciption from my doctor.
The other thing I have found is that most washing powders irritate his condition. I now use Persil non bio as it is the only one that doesn't start him itching. Even other brands of persil affect him!

    cheers

Hi LLPJ :hello: - welcome to the boards!

We don't have any of the shops you mention locally ("piffle" to living in central London!) but whenever we go up to visit my parents I try and divert on a quick trip to their nearest "big" town 13 miles away where they have Wilkinsons and Savers. I only hope that I give the assistants something to gossip about after I have left the shop...last weekend I left Savers with 6 deodorants (they must think I have a huge personal hygiene problem!) but when its half the price I normally pay round here, I'd be daft not to, eh?! :rotfl:

I tend to second the suggestion from Snaggles, though, and just keep the "normal" price you pay at the back of your mind - there are certain things I pay a bit extra for, and occasionally I find them on BOGOF in Boots which brings them down to a very acceptable price (and adds Boots points onto my card which I save for Christmas ;)) - its worth keeping an open mind about these "expensive" shops...there are often bargains to be had where you least expect them if you are keeping a close eye out! :D

I am only slightly bothered about somethings and have tried lots and just don't buy the ones I don't like Aldis does a great deodorant for .99p that is excellent. I tried their shampoo and didn't like it but get on ok with Herbal Essence and they are always on BOGOF.

I get all my skincare free (Virgin consultant) and use only basic things on my children and they have sensitive skin. I atually find Infaderm the best.

    And welcome!!!!
