Would you fly Ryanair across the Atlantic?

...and apparently they treat their staff really badly. You know you get good service when staff are treated, and paid, properly..... I'd pay a little extra for that0

im a big fan of ryanair, and i hope oleary gets a knighthood for what he has done for low cost air travel, if these translantic flights ever take place it can only be good for competition and prices
but i agree with comments from experts on long haul, the punters will expect more than they get on ryanair normal services
and the lack of care when problems arise on flights to europe is something a lot of people incuding myself can accept because of the price paid for the flight, but getting stuck in the states with ryanair is a different matter
these usa flights dont really appeal to me, but like most people if the price is going to be as low as europe flights, i may change my mind
what about games of "BINGO" on these long haul flights, forget the scartchcards lark0 -
Its not going to be "Ryanair" anyway.
Michael Oleary has already said it would be a different set up and that short haul and long haul models dont mix well.
The main point, I think is "timing". They intend to buy their aircraft when the demand is low, therefor getting a bigger discount than they would get buying now. These new aircraft are so much more efficient than older models so excluding taxes . could easily fly for half the current cost
They have already shook up some of their potential competitors with Virgin announcing similar plans0 -

Why has nobody thought of that before?!! I honestly think that is the best idea ... what better way to pass the time?!
Edit: Just noticed how sarcastic that sounded, but it wasn't meant to be ... cracking idea! xGone ... or have I?0 -

I always carry a copy of my EU rights whenever and regardless of whoever I fly with.
The EU passenger charter deals specifically with delays within the control of the airline - I think you'll find 99.9% of delays will be caused (or at least blamed) on external circumstances and won't be paid out.
Besides, what good is compensation when you've missed the start of your holiday or business meeting?0 -

The EU Commission know this is happening and are likely to stop it in the near future - by changing the wording. No doubt Airlines will then put prices up, but that's life.If you want a better level of service you'll have to pay for it.0 -
If Micheal O'Leary launches a long-haul 'Ryanair' in the next 4 years, I will personally eat my own backside before launching Sam Air.
It does not equate. And as has been pointed out, he cannot pick up 40-50 brand new aircraft in this time. There is already a waiting list till 2011 for most types of new planes.
Transatlantic economy are amongst the most heavily subsidised (by the business fares) in the world. That's why there are 3 brand new business class only airlines flying the route. You can't have a 25 minute turnaround. You cant fly 16 sectors a day. You can't make pilots fly to New York Airport Houston, turn around, and fly back again.
O'Leary's just making a name for himself, and putting the cat amongst the pigeons. Which is great in it's own right.0 -
so this is where the idea for 'Lost' came from
I guess O'Leary has worked out it's the easiest way to avoid paying compensation0 -
Nah chavvies have criminal records so aren't allowed in the US. Well maybe Florida excepted

of course !!!, thank you USA department of homeland security !!!!!!!
ASBO scum need not apply !!!!
wonder if Mr O leary could be excluded for moral turpitude offences ???? isn,t a arrest enough to warrant a visa ectBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
