I would just be dozing off when the eastern bloc stewardess will be yelling "scratchcards!!" all 1% profit to charity.

Seriously doesnt it annoy you on a night flight when you are just dozing off at a rightangle when you get some loud mouth girl hollering about scratchcards or rubbish collection.

Furthermore, talking to someone nicely doesnt cost a penny. Why can the BA Air stewardess manage it but the east euro girl cant?

If you can bare Monarch for a long haul flight, then Ryanair doesn't sound to bad to me! x
    Gone ... or have I?

I would not fly with this lot unless i was paying around £1 for the fare excluding taxes, if they cancel/delay you are stuffed. Fine if you have no commitments i suppose.

Not true. Ryanair are subject to the same EU passenger charter as any other airline. In the US its even stricter, so passengers will be protected and compensated accordingly.
I always carry a copy of my EU rights whenever and regardless of whoever I fly with.

for delays, just choose which flight option applies from the following and print off. If you wanted to keep it , you could laminate it.
Lots of other info is available on the air users council website

Given Michael O'Leary's "difficulties" with UK / EU rules on air travel, what are the chances of him throughly !!!!ing off the US authorities and having either his planes diverted to Bangor with a military escort or having them shot down when the pilot insists that they have to continue to Providence "New York" Airport in order to keep to schedule?

Personally I wouldn't touch Ryanair transatlantic until it's had at least a year of successful flights.

BTW someone mentioned Monarch. Just spent 10h30m in one of their planes coming back from Goa, 3 films, lots of leg room (I'm 6 foot) and the food was edible, the loos didn't block & stayed clean and we arrived back in the UK an hour early complete with luggage. Compared to someone like Iberia to Cuba (no luggage, flights delayed), Easyjet to Stansted (flight cancelled) or BA to Jordan (flight cancelled, flew Tarom via Bucharest) I think it's the best flight I've had in the past 3 years

after the way they treated a plane load of people in Venice when we were there I'd never fly with them again ever. They cancelled their flight, offered no help, threw them out the airport and told them to make their own way home. People with young kids left stranded  Things are fine when nothing goes wrong but heaven help you if there is a problem. I'd rather pay a bit more and have an airline that does get you home (we were with easyjet, stranded as well due to fog, not wonderful service but at least they flew us home the next day and did put us up in a hotel!). I'd be worried that if they pulled that sort of stunt in the US you'd end up in jail or something if you couldn't get home
