Wheres Biscuitmads post gone about schools?? I was just going to say exactly the same thing, even 10 years ago it was exactly the same, DS's PTA was the clickiest place ever:(

At my GD's last school (primary/junior) there were only ever the same 4 parents who organised bbq's, pamper evenings, Xmas stuff, fetes etc. DD has just attended her first PTA meeting at my GD senior school and there was 20 there - all seemed a bit clicky! They had a pamper evening last Thursday and raised £400 approx from 120 guests. The ones that she and her three friends organised at the old school raised £470 and had 40 guests. She's a bit concerned that if she tells the 'new' lot how they raised so much more pro rata per head, they will think that she's a 'know it all' and won't welcome her input. She isn't but is very good at arranging stuff on a strict budget and maximizing profit for the school. At her last Christmas fete, they sold Mum's and Dad's gifts wrapped up so that the children could buy them at 50p. Mum's were absolutely delighted with the scarves but not sure that Dad's were that impressed with the rugby/Simpson etc socks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Still made a very healthy profit and as someone once said every little helps:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm logging on quickly from my work to say that I have just had an offer accepted on what will make a lovely family home on the street I grew up on as a kid (from 6 months to 10 years)!!! :j:j:j:j:j

It's a bit of a project which suits me just fine. I could never in a million years afford this house if it was all done up

Big, big thanks to everyone who contributes to the finds on this thread because the savings I have made (and hopefully will continue to make) will help speed the renovation along :beer:

I can't believe my daughter will be going to the same school as I did. :eek:My mum still lives in the area and can't wait to walk her to/from school when she's old enough :j

Thats brilliant:T:T:TMy DS went to the same school as me and it was a really weird feeling taking him in on the first day:o

I sieve it and leave in the fridge overnight. Then you can skim the fat off the top and it will be very little calories.

Going to do that next time:T

Yes, the invites came through about 2 weeks ago.
