After all the cake is stuffed with alcohol on one side of the marzipan and the icing will keep most air out from the other side. Put it in the fridge now and it should be fine for icing in December if kept in coolish dry storage conditions in my opinion.eightieschick88 wrote: »Just noticed it was marzipan you were talking about being out of date doh! Yes I'd use it definitely Tiger, covered with "in date" icing and it will be fine. Especially with all that boozy fruit you have in the cake, no one will even notice the marzipan :rotfl:
I've got my fruit stewing away in the booze now thanks to your link. May give it a week or so soaking then get cracking with the cake. Will be better
organised next year (she says).
and pick up the 40p marzipan.. it's £3.99 in T
I've just been looking at my T receipt too... they had funsize mars/twix/milky ways in the halloween section, all as a B1G1F. And it hasn't gone through on my receipt ..but when I've checked on T.com, it says it's only on Twiz/buttons/smarties so T have incorrectly labelled it all.. grr.. Be careful with what you pick up. I've already opened them so I'm going to go back and claim an extra or exchange them. I'm not paying £2.79 for 15 mini milkyways!!!!:eek:Tiger
