I had one as a kid. Managed to bounce 1,650 times in a row but wore through the rubber bung at the bottom! Turned out a guy (by an amazing coincidence, where I worked, a now-vanished hospital in Glasgow) set the record at about 6000 bounces so I realised I was nothing great! Bet the record's been beaten many times since then.

If my memory serves me right (not too reliable these days though :o) I believe they said the record was something like 200,000...I could be wrong but think it was something like that. Now Iv written that out it looks bizarre.....but no doubt someone on here will know. Now though they jump up and spin in the air and do so many tricks with them it really is amazing to watch. I expect this will be the new must have soon!

  • I'm sorry you feel that my response does not answer your query. Though I haven't mentioned the Asda vouchers you've been using in the store I did confirm that no stores in Northern Ireland should be accepting coupons from other supermarkets at this time.

We have spoken to the store in question to ensure that this doesn't happen again and I apologise for any confusion caused when having these accepted in the past.

    Thanks,

I read on the special k page that the giveaway is not on at the weekend, so hopefully should be up and running on monday.

S10ct means stupid 10 character thing. The forum won't let you do a post with less than 10 characters.

Eta, just read back that others have said the giveaway is finished, thanks for that.

thanks for this. i'm getting edumacated every day on here!! :)

No it does not harsh just sensible ( to me anyway).

    1. Yes she is frail and when I put her to bed last night I had to undo her bra, lift her legs up onto the bed, get her a fresh drink, check house was all locked up and kiss her goodnight ( Mum is not very tactile but when they both got old it seemed the right thing to kiss them goodnight ( think I am the only one who does it though)
    2. I think the double signing of the b/s book came about because I am looking into power of attorney ( not for now but in the future) as my brother told Mum it was very expensive and I know from here it is easy and cheap.

    3. I will speak to my youngest sister next week about the gravestone and say Mum must have what she wants after all we can write what we want on Mum's

    4. I have tried to talk to the cemetery and apparently the only way they can be in the same grave is if Mum is cremated. Oldest brother has the funeral papers and I asked for them back so we can look and see if on the grave purchase it says anything about a double headstone. Then Mum would feel a bit happier. I mean double as in twice the size covering both graves.
    5. Re speaking to them it is pointless as they wont listen to me. That is why I emailed them. My DS and DD read the email before I sent it and said it was valid, to the point and not vitriolic.
For instance when Dad died my husband and my sisters husband ( who is disabled ) were not allowed in the funeral cars as my brother and sister said it was an unnecessary expense ( even though my 2 sister in laws went in the car with the grandchildren)
    6. I know they are watching the pounds because for instance my oldest brother and sister dont want her having the new windows as it will have to be repaid from the sale of the house eventually and they think it unnecessary even though Mum is very cold.

I am grateful for everyone's sensible input and wish my family could be the same.

Now off out to the market then maybe a trip to Asda and Tesco later.

    THANKS AGAIN ALL.

you and your mum need to order them windows! and pay for them .surly your mum hasnt got to ask them if she can have windows.?

once you have ordered and paid theirs nothing they can do also this winter is going to be cold why shuld they be warm and yr mum be cold

i find it strange how much control they have over you and your mum

you need to think along the line of

enough is enough they have held the rains to tight for two long

you and your mum need to team up and do what needs doing after its done if they dnt like it shut them out of your life's at the end of the day surely you and your mum want to live in piece and enjoy yr time together instead of worrying about what going to be questioned next

i mean all of this in the nicest way possible i just think you need to tuffen up (i know its easier said than done but they think they can treat you like crap do it to them)

my gran went in to a home her own choice we (the family pay extra for her to go to this one) she sold her house and gave her saving and pention up (we will have nothing when she dies )well i dnt see it as nothing as ill have memories that are priceless and peace of mind knowing nan was happy

anyway big hugs and cuddles and please look after your self its easy to forget when your stressed/busy

Snap! DD came home from uni today so we spent the morning moving two wardrobes from room to room so she has a new bedroom here. DS gets her old larger room now. Now covered with dust and got a cold starting so looking forward to a day of coughing and sneezing and feeling knackered!:)
