    Hello,
I (oh, actually not me, but my baby) need some baby sun cream (SPF 50+), but the ones I could find (Soltan, Nivea and Jognson&Johnson) looked very bad - they were dusty, dirty and looked like they were standing on the shelf for ages. I wonder how long these creams are effective? I think I've read sth in this thread before, stating that sun filters are effective about 1-2 years, don't they? It's so annoying there's no any expiry dates on them  No matter they are on BOGOF - I don't need cheap one, I need effective one - at least it's for my baby!
Any ideas when and where I can find this year's stock of baby cream?
Thanks in advance, really need your advice :o
  • Hi, as far as I'm aware it's after opening that they become less effective. Most pkging now has a pic of a jar on the back that has xx months in it and that's how long you should keep it for after opening, however the suncream that I bought for my kids from Tescos last summer has a bbe date on it, it's 04/08 making it about 18 months life from opening.....hope you understand the waffle and HTH

    Woohoo!

A canadian ebay buyer has just offered me a nice amount of money to buy quite a few Boots items for her, and she is paying me for the pleasure!

A totally legitimate reason to go Boots shopping :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • It's like most things, once it's open it becomes attractive to bacteria, particularly since most people wipe their hands across the top of the bottle. these multiply and can cause skin infections after a year or so. The active chemicals will also begin to degrade so most sun creams should be replace each season after opening. If it's not opened then really it won't be effectively degrading which is why there is no shelf life marked. hth

    Hi all,

This is only my second post, so please bear with me.

I went into Boots today & made a purchase over £10, one of the items was from behind the pharmacy counter, should I have received the voucher for spending over £10?

Also I live in Hertfordshire & can never find any Boots stores with any reduced items, can anyone give me some advice as to where to go?

    Thanks

This depends on whether the item scanned or was put through as a 'dispensary sale'. Check on your receipt if it has a X next to the price, if so then it wont count towards the £10. HTH.

    xx

I hope I get this too...still no sight of my mailing… it will be my first time since I get my boots card 2 years ago not to get quarterly mailing …

Do you think we will be able to use it togehtr with mag/orange bag vouchers?:p

Yesterday I saw New vouchers in store – they look like change one thing booklet – bark blue – lose weight – inside are 3 vouchers I think – one for xtra point on slim fast, some online scheme/program… there is also plastic card to weight machine with one free checking of your weight and bmi …
They might be other topic lying somewhere in store as well, didn’t have to much time just look at this one and left…

I know how you feel!! My advise with the £5 ones is use them all together. They dont go through the till, so I used up 5 vouchers and as all the prices are overriden they can go through in one transaction. You can then gain a bathing voucher and get a hand cream for free!!
