The Neighbour's cat

  • We have a male cat and due to a busy time at college/work it took us a while to get him neutured. he loved playing outside and often would be out all day. then a few weeks before he was booked in for the deed it would take us a while to get him in - us shouting 'spock' round the neighbourhood. good some funny looks when we said we were trying to get the cat in overnight.

Anyway a few weeks ago (after being neutered for a month or so) he went missing for over 24hrs which is very unusal. we were desperately calling for him, then he came from nowhere. then some neighbours who were going to their car said 'ah, hes your cat' YES MINE. apparently he like to wander through their cat flap and play with their 'tom' that had just had kittens. they continued to say, yeah everytime you called him he was in our house. OMG he had a tag with our phone number on, and they knew we kept looking for him grrr.

For some reason i felt a bit upset that he had been in someone elses house. I kept him in for a few days and made sure he knew who his mummy was.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Today I was at the school helping with reading when a TA told me
"Ah great, it's you. The cat that often visits the school is injured, and your DD said you knew who's cat she is. She must have been in a fight and needs to see the vet".
The cat was of course no longer around but I walked home and started calling the neighbours when I heard a miaow (she hadn't been around since half term). I let her in and having no success on the phone (I wrote their number with 1 extra digit and couldn't get through), I decided to walk there with the cat in case they were in.
She was happy enough until we came near the house and she tried to escape...
The husband was in, so I told him about the school telling me about the nasty wound and he replied "Ah yes, she came like this yesterday... she must have been in a fight. Looks nasty . Thanks anyway".
I then walked away but I feel terrible as I think she should have gone straight to the vet and I'm not sure they will take her.
I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones

You could call the RSPCA. Tell them what happened. Hopefully they will do a check and make sure the cat is seen by a Vet.
