The Neighbour's cat

Well, I will see how we go in the coming weeks with the kids back at school. It's the guilt that is getting me as I would hate my pet to move out. Money for the vet is not an issue, but then again, it can't be for my neighbours either (just bought the house for a small fortune, 2 kids in boarding school, holidays at half term and Easter... I wouldn't think finance is an issue!!!).
I left her asleep on DD's bed last night with our door closed and when OH go up she came in and woke me up.
I let her out, but she came back in an hour later!
I actually have no idea if she is in or not now... Will need to look around as I was going to take the kids out.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
Arrrggghhhh... I found a flea on her:eek:I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0

Eugh, that's the downside of pets, moggies in particular.
Unfortunately this is where ownership becomes tricky. All flea treatment is costly, including the ineffectual stuff.
To be flea free, Frontline and Stronghold are best. Then there is worming (stronghold does both at the same time). Question is, do you mind forking out for possibly a part time pet?I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Further development.
*Ahem*
Early on Saturday morning,(5.30 am) DD comes in our room "because the cat is awake and she wants to get out" SO I get up to show her the open window (she came in that way!!!) and she disappears.
6.00 am, DD comes in "Mum, Dad, she brought a dead mouse in my room"
Ahem. Mouse disposal team to work.
Back trying to snooze.
6.30 am, Son knocks on door "Mum, Dad, he cat is playing with a rabbit downstairs!"
We all go down to find a terrified baby rabbit being played with. Ushered them both outside, where she finished him off....
She had carried both through the upstairs bathroom window.
Later in the afternoon, found her playing with a tiny mouse (still alive) in the garden, and we also think she caught a bird....
We slept with all our windows shut last night and ignored her miaowwing at the window :eek:I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
I'm afraid as she cat now seems to be teaching the kids to hunt, she's yours for life. Please don't be upset by the "food" she's bringing you as its perfectly natural thing for her to. She's trying to teach you to hunt!-I'm not fat, just fashionably plump.-0

Our laziest cat has so far this year brought us in half a pork chop and a cooked sausage. Clearly doesn't hold out much hope for DS's hunting skills
Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early

Its not just cats that leave home dogs do as well!
Quite a few years ago after being out to a New Years Eve do we let the dogs out onto the square (we lived in a square with a large patch of grass)to have a wee, whilst they were having a wander we locked up the house ready for bed, when we went outside to fetch them in they were gone!! we looked for them everywhere but couldn't find them.
Half hour later the phone rang, it was a guy who lived 20 mins away, apparently our dogs followed him and his own dog home, went into his house, went upstairs and immediately got on his kiddies beds and fell asleep! he was ringing us to say he had one bull mastiff & 1 Lab sound asleep in his house and would we like to go & get them (luckily they both had tags on).
We went to the guys house, he showed us upstairs & yes found Mutley & Cleo quite at home sleeping on the beds (the kids were loving it).
Mut & Cleo were not amused that we dragged them home & I think they could of quite happily lived there.
BeemPlease pull my nightie down when you have finished0 -
Well, after 2 days back at school and making sure she is out at night (the kids &grownups need undisturbed sleep), she has been visiting in the morning before school and in the afternoon afterschool until I take her out. I am actually about to extract her from DD's bed...
I have to say that DD was a bit upset at the idea hat she kills baby rabbitts (Mum & Dad are delighted as there are far too many eating my plants away), but the boys thought it was hilarious... Needless to say I don't bother with scraps of food ...I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
She must love you very much to be fetching so many gifts home.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
