...It will do exactly the same job as the more expensive asbestos sealers but at less than half the price.0

I used what was left to seal cellar walls which had limewash peeling off. It did the job admirably. I'd already tried using PVA to seal the cellar walls which peeled off as it dried and shrunk back. PVA will do the job as you say but having had the chance to try the proper stuff free of charge I'd say it outperformed PVA.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. So asbestos sealant works better on limewash than PVA? I'll take your word for it but I don't think the OP mentioned sealing limewash
Don't see I have to give a reason for mentioning the limewash, but it was an added bonus
I wasn't having a go at you BTW.
Gloss paint on PVA will look pretty carp without an undercoat. If it really has to be painted again a soft-sheen water based but water resistant finish like acrylic bathroom emulsion will adhere better.0 -
Something to bear in mind if you are thinking of painting asbestos sheeting. At some time in the future, the paint may start to look tatty and be in need of re-painting. But you really don't want to be sandpapering asbestos sheets before applying a new coat of paint. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I have decided to get someone in to board up both ceilings , i am thinking batons in the walls of the garage and the passage way , with either plasterboard or simple hardboard as a new `fake ` ceiling.....as it seems to me this will be less stressfull and more long term , any thoughts ?0
