Today is a good day - or at least better than yesterday.
My tax credits went in so they reduced how much I am overdrawn by but still overdrawn:(
I do however still have my £30 monthly allowance and so far this month (without counting the overdrawn amount) I have only spent £2.38.
My aim is to make it to the end of the month and still have something left of my £30. I haven't booked an appt for my hair this month and haven't bought anything from Very.
I have not added anything to my credit cards and no further PDL's. I know it's still early in the month but I am feeling positive - a big thank you to HaW as I was really feeling quite down when I posted yesterday. Thank you for lifting my spirits.
I am happy as after my jiggery pokery and a discussion with the ex I now have over £400 per month to pay my debts that means debt free in less than 2 years woohoo:T:TDebts: Vanquis, Avon, Lowell, Gothia, Natwest, Capital One, Very, Cheque Centre, Loan Xtra, Txt loan and WageDay Advance. Still feeling hopeful at the minute.
I have £24 in the bank and £35 in my purse (my ex gave me £10 towards taking Erin (Poo) swimming and for snacks after. Am not wanting to spend any of it on bills just at the minute. I figure if I hold onto it until the end of the month without spending anymore I can then make an overpayment to one of my big debts.
I have now heard back from vanquis, gothia, txtloan and loan xtra (depending on whether they accept what my 'other spend' entails) and Lowells and they have agreed to reduced payments with no further charges or interest.
Still waiting for the rest to get back to me though Very and Capital one are up to date with minimum payments.
Here's hoping to another good week.Debts: Vanquis, Avon, Lowell, Gothia, Natwest, Capital One, Very, Cheque Centre, Loan Xtra, Txt loan and WageDay Advance. Total 3589.39/7910

I have bought the car tax and the groceries... then I looked in the bank and could have cried when I realised that one of the PDL's had taken out the payment even after I wrote to them rescinding my continuous authority and offering a payment schedule!!!! Spoke to the bank not much I can do about it according to them.
you need to cancel the card for the bank account. PDL companies will take your money even if you ask them not to. Get a new account it you need to.0

I've decided that rather than just write about my DF journey I can use this space to write about things too, it has become my 'safe place'.
I am on top of being a single mum working full time, studying for a degree with the OU. I am studying history and have been studying for 2 years. At the minute I am undertaking 2 courses (no idea what made me do that madness) world archaeology and medieval to modern history. In the words of my ex "from the time we walked out of the jungle on 2 legs to the beginning of WW1 then?"
Last week I submitted my first assignment, I now have 2 weeks until the next assignment is due then assignments are due practically every 2 weeks for the next 4-5 months.
I am now working on summarising and comparing the evidence for the development of agriculture - not the most riveting of assignments and I keep falling asleep reading my 'big book of words!'
 Just thought I'd share
Oh and I paid another £5 to my Cap 1 CC.Debts: Vanquis, Avon, Lowell, Gothia, Natwest, Capital One, Very, Cheque Centre, Loan Xtra, Txt loan and WageDay Advance. Total 3589.39/7910

            HaW,
My family all feel very much the same way... they think I'm crazy and boring and.... well lots of other things ( I have 4 sisters, their partners and 12 neices/nephews so that's a lot of people). I on the other hand absolutely love it. I have also sat Beginners Mandarin, Beginners Japanese, The Arts Past and Present, Introduction to Social Science and a maths course.(lots of variety as I had no idea what I wanted to do!)
Finally decided though and I am now looking to get my degree then PGCE and then teach teenagers history(teenagers have nothing on me - I've already done it!), classical studies and politics.... a far cry from being an administrator for children's social care. I want Poo to be as proud of her Mummy as I am of her. She is 4 years old with all the potential in the world.
Still amazed this this wonderful, bright, funny little girl is mine - especially when at her parents evening I am told she is a joy to teach, very switched on, popular with her peers and and a model pupil - I think my parents would have passed out with shock if they had been told that about me. Just coming home from school for a whole week without a detention or letter from a teacher/the headmaster was a feat for me. I was bored at school, I never studied a day and still managed to pass my exams, I just wish I had carried on the momentum and done my degree then - though I probably wouldn't have set off on my adventures.
I want to take Poo on adventures, let her have the nice things in life and I want her never to feel poor (which is how I felt). Hence this DFD.Debts: Vanquis, Avon, Lowell, Gothia, Natwest, Capital One, Very, Cheque Centre, Loan Xtra, Txt loan and WageDay Advance. Total 3589.39/7910

And you should be well proud of yourself too! You have a dream and you're going for it. Amazing!
