Samsung Kies

Hi All,

Just a quick one, bought a samsung S3 phone which to manage your data ect uses a software called samsung kies (like itunes) however its useless always crashes everybody complains of this and Samsung refuse to help you despite having support warranty.

My question is am I on a ground to claim compensation against samsung for selling me a product which dose not completely work?

Regards

No, because Samsung didn't sell you the phone.

A retailer sold you the phone. Your only contract is with the retailer.

In any case, they usually exclude software from any warranty.

I don't see anyone starting class action against Samsung.

Nobody claims compo from Microsoft - Windows has NEVER worked properly!

I use it with my HTC Desire and a friend used it for her phone which is a Samsung (not sure which though)

Are you asking for technical support ? if so then you are in the right forum.
But if your question is about consumer rights then it would be better if you asked it in http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=173

    Nope.

I use Kies and it works and doesn't crash my PC, so the software isn't faulty as such. It's still dreadful though. :p

Kies is free = no compensation.

I have Kies and it hasn't crashed on me once. So maybe it's something to do with your own set-up?

Kies on my Win7 PC wont work unless I give it admin rights.
on my XP Home PC it wont work if I run as a limited user.
Poor design, fit for the bin.
  • Compensation for what?? Have you suffered any loss? No wonder the country has gone down the toilet !!!!
