just didn't register the bid at all, i could have won the item if it had.
How do you know? Are you psychic, so knew how much the winning bidder set as their maximum? :p

Agreed. If you really want to win an auction, why rely on something that's out of your control. If you snipe yourself, the only real problems you can have is if your internet / electric drops out. Also, if you snipe yourself, you can get cashback, instead of Goofbay and the like getting the referral :D

  • Have to agree with the last two of you there, i always manually snipe as i used to use goofbay but as above let me down.... if i want to win something then i will win it, and not by relying on the unreliable.
  • fair enough manually sniping but what if you're out of the house?

bidding live is great if you can guarantee to be there at the end of the auction and also have the discipline not to get carried away.

unfortunately, i have to work and sleep and cannot always be there to bid. i know i cannot always be trusted to stay within my budget too.

using a sniper is perfect for me.

    simples.
you can't take it with you...

If you want it that bad you'll be in the house. If not you take your chances with a snipe tool
