Thanks for confirming. Thats what I thought. He is now not getting back to me either. He wont tell me where to ship it back too! I feel like for the past several months I have had more bad than good transactions as a buyer but I can't stay away!

I think you've just been very unlucky with your sellers, I know many, many sellers personally in my area 99% of them are excellent, the 1% are either struggling due to sanctions or very poor feedback and still blame the buyers when they complain...

There's no telling them, they are right, buyer is wrong. Even when they state they will despatch within 5 days of being paid...when they live just 400yds from a post office...

Any buyer of mine, if they pay before 3.30pm during the week, gets their item posted the same day. With the DSR's and feedback system as it is, it's the only way.

Yeah it must be bad luck because I've been buying off of ebay for years and I've always had great experiences until this year. Bad experiences don't deter me too much because I think ebay is still one of the best places to buy things on.

eBay is OK for certain items but there are a lot of categories I simply won't buy from any more. The private sellers sell items which are on their last legs and the business sellers sell knock-offs.

Always check a seller's feedback before buying and don't get sucked in by false economies/'bargains'. As a private seller I have decamped from eBay to Amazon and made a considerable amount of money (in my view too).

You're absolutely right. I've been getting a lot of items on their last legs from private sellers so I started to only buy off of business sellers but so far they haven't been much better. I think maybe because I buy electronics on there is why I keep getting duped. I just really can't afford them from elsewhere. Amazon feels much safer but things are more expensive on there. I refuse to ever by phones off of ebay again because I've had people block them on me after purchase. I also agree that selling things on amazon gets you more money. I put the odd thing or two up and when it sells I make so much more than I would on ebay.
  • Hi guys,

My case has been open for a little while now and the seller has said to return the item to him and that he will fix it and ship it back to me. I asked for a full refund because I worry that he fixes it very short term and then it breaks again. I can't open a second case so I'd be screwed. Can he really do that? Make me take it back? Should I just wait to escalate the case before sending or does that not matter? Any help greatly appreciated :)

    No he cannot.

Escalate the case as soon as you can. Then when prompted, send the item back tracked.

    Then upload your tracking.

He will have no option but to refund once the item is delivered/attempted or refused.
  • Thank you very much theonlywayisup. I'll wait to escalate :).
  • Just got another message from him saying he needs it back tomorrow for some reason and upon return he will test it and it will be 'processed accordingly'. I'm going to ignore now.
