I have worked as a mystery shoppers for about a year now with 2 different companies. I love doing this in my spare time and I enjoy it.

I have just noticed on my jobs section of TNS that where it says that you have completed a job or that your paperwork has been sent to you it says RESHOPPED.

I know that this might be a very silly question but does this mean that TNS have had to assign it to someone else.

I have never seen this before so any advice would be helpful if anyone has had this before aswell.

A note to anyone eating a clown for breakfast. ;)

At breakfast you are allowed to have a cup of coffee, which you are not allowed to do when clowning around at lunch or supper. If you look on the cardboard holder around your cup, so will find a pop-out collector's card. Elsewhere on the holder there is a little transparent sticker. Collect 6 of these stickers on the card for a free cup of coffee when you are NOT MSing!

Sorry if this seems obvious, but I know quite a few people who drink Clown Coffee (which is actually quite nice coffee!) and hadn't realised this! :D

Yes, I'm afraid so. I have had this once, when I ate at a Harvester and forgot to order 3 courses. That isn't your problem as well, is it?

THe bad news is that they won't pay you or refund your meal....

This was at a pub/night club I think that they might have had a problem with the name of the person that served me or the time that I went in as it had different times on their website and their paperwork. I got this assignment by phone and not by the website.

I had a problem with a visit to an electrical store with TNS where i did two in one day and one shop tipped the other one off what I looked like and so they approached me in store (I wrote about it on here). I let TNS know and they seemed quite good about it......on my page it now says RESHOPPED but I still got paid for it regardless. Also got paid for one when I went and the place was closed for refurbishment......didn't even need to do any results!!!!!

    Hi all

I saw an ad to become a mystery shopper in my local paper and I followed the link - https://www.grgresearch.com - to check it out and when I was filling in my details to become a mystery shopper it asked for my bank details.

Does this sound kosher? Does anyone know anyone who works for Grg research and is it worth it?

    Cheers all

    Stu

Grass roots is definately kosher - I've worked for them for two years now, and they always pay by BACS into my bank account.

Hope that helps to set your mind at rest.xx

Yes, I'd endorse this. GRG are great. They always approach you, though (rather than having a website where you apply for jobs, I mean) so don't panic if you don't hear anything from them for a while!

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me with the dreaded tax returns?!
Have done SE section and NOP so thought I was doing well, then I get to TNS!!! Doesn't help no P60 yet but still......
As the earnings will be a -ve after deducting costs (due to a couple of free meals but no pay etc) is it worth adding it up? Would it be safe enough to put salary off the P60 (a very measley amount (!)) and then make my mileage claim near enough the same?
Trying to cut corners. Only started up in Nov and after expenses will not come up to tax threshold in any case. Might even get a small refund! :j

The way I dealt with TNS last year was to do a grand summary.

I added up all the earnings I had earnt (including my main employment and TNS)

I added up all the tax I had paid (including my main employment and TNS)

I worked out how much tax I thought I should pay overall, and sent IR a cheque for the difference. (It came to just over £100, and I am a higher rate taxpayer so I knew TNS hadn't taxed me enough).

I didn't bother to claim the extra expenses for TNS due to travel etc, but probably will do this year (although I suspect it will all come out in the wash, as I always claim the travel, and sometimes spend less on travel than they give me and sometimes more).

Yes, you might get a refund - but I'm sure IR will expect you to make a profit after the first year.......(But the tax will be hardly anything if you are thorough with your expenses).
