Does anyone do focus groups as well as MSing? I'm just getting some work through them, and I've been offered two groups on the same day, one after the other. I'm a bit worried that they're run by the same company - if they realise they've booked me for two groups, will they ask me to leave or accuse me of being a professional respondant? I'm not really, they're both for things I'm interested in and use, but I can see that they might not see it that way!2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
Okay - just a thought about NI class 2 payments.
My OH bless him reckons that if you are pregnant or want to be:eek: then you only have to pay 11 weeks of class 2 contributions to be eligible for maternity allowance? - its about £100 a week I think he said, and at only £2.10 ish a week thats a good investment.
He knows someone who's done it and its worked easily. (Clients advising the advisor of loopholes, lol, to be fair its out of his remit but still laughing.)
I'm going to top up my meagre NI payments for this year by paying class 2's so I will be eligible for sickness benefit etc, cos when youre self emp or contracted you dont get paid when youre sick. I live in fear of breaking a leg or something.
Its just a thought and though it might help some preggers people.
but check it out first to make sure its right - cos I cant remeber what the mat allowance was etc. must speak to him tonight.

I've only looked at MA briefly. I think it said you could still get it if you had a small earnings exemption form. But you only got an average of your earnings as long as it's over £30? Which in my case won't be that much....
Your way sounds much better!

Nope - alas my child bearing era is now gone,( early menopause) but did have 6 pregnancies and I have 4 lovely sons to show for it ( couldnt carry girls). Theyre all grown up now, youngest is 18!! but I remember how hardup we were, and I wouldnt like anyone to miss out on mat allowance as I did. I'm all for trying to ease the financial burdon for low earners etc.
Cant wait for grand kids now lol - but want mine to have a bit of a life first before they have 'em.

Not quite right. You need to have:
been employed and/or self-employed for at least 26 weeks in the 66 weeks up to and including the week before your baby is due. This 66 week period is known as the Test Period.
and
earned on average at least £30 or more a week over any 13 weeks in the Test Period.
If both apply you will get £108.85 a week MA for 6 months. It is going up to about £112 a week after April, and is payable for 9 months.
