rachelja wrote:Does anyone know if TNS pay a month in hand? I see they pay on 28th of month so will that be 28th Jan for December jobs? Not been paid by them yet and could do with the money! ;-)
In their FAQs it says cut off for processing is about 14th of the month except for December when it is 9th. So anything between 9th Dec and 14th Jan should appear by end of Jan. Have a look at FAQ for more detail - I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to reproduce in full as its past the log-in stage.0 -

If your mobile contract is coming up for renewal, consider picking a phone with a decent camera on it. Nobody bats an eyelid at you standing fiddling with a phone, and that's coming from someone who takes a number of covert pictures for a regular job (don't ask what as I can't say!).
I've got the Sony Erricsson K800i which has a 3MP camera on it. The camera is so good and the quality is brilliant, that I've stopped using my normal digi camera for work, and I just use the phone. It's one less thing to carry.
I agree Beccles I haven't had a MS shopping job where I needed to take a photo yet but I use my mobile (Sony Erricsson K750i) to take pictures for ebay - my laptop even has a slot which takes the memory card from the phone so it's so easy to get the photos off it and the qualities great.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Quick question WRT tax - I'm going to fill out the Small Earnings exemption; as I MS in my spare time, and have a normal PAYE office job. Do I need to include work I do for TNS on the form, as they already deduct tax before they pay you, or can I just detail the work I do for Gap/R.E?2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -

I can answer this one for you!
The number is a VOIP one, so I believe calls are charged at national rate (ot thereabouts) depending on your provider. For further clarification, you can email Chris at info@mysteryoutsource.co.uk (which costs nothing lol!)

The Small Earnings Exemption just relates to National Insurance not tax. It's currently £2.10 a week for Class 2 NI. If you already pay NI rthrough your normal job, the certificate means you are exempt from paying the £2.10 a week.
Tax is seperate and you will need to pay tax on all your earnings. You'll have your personal allowance linked to your main PAYE, and companies like TNS will take off tax at the basic rate of 22%.
For companies like Gap and RE, you can lump them all together under self employment. Keep a note of your incomings and outgoings. You can include anything you spend on MS work as expenses, including telephone calls and paper for your printer, as long as you have reciepts to back your spends up.
After April, you'll get a self assesment form. Transfer your self employment figures into the relevant self employment section. Each PAYE company needs it's own page, and you just copy the figures from the P46 each company will send you.
There are further sections on bank account interest, buy to let income etc., which may or may not apply to you.
If you fill it all in before 30th September, the tax office work out how much you owe them and I find that easier than doing it yourself. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I am a bit confused about tns payment. On the pub briefs it says that the visits are for one or two adults and then elsewhere in the brief it says that if I take anyone else on the visit they will not be paid for. Does this mean my partner or a third party. I hope it only means a third party otherwise I am way out of pocket.Snootchie Bootchies!0

On those pub briefs there is a limit for the food, think last time I did one it was £15 which I put down the total for what we had both eaten which was just under £15 and got paid for it all!Weight Loss - 102lb0
