Grassroots paid me quite quickly for the one I did - about 10 days.

can u refuse some jobs if you dont wish to travel a certain distance?

You can pick and chose what you want to do. The nearest I've done was a village shop within walking distance of my house! The furthest I've done was a 160 mile round trip (2 fave companies who were both desperate so I was able to help both in one trip!).

I look at each job on it's travelling time and if the company pay mileage before I accept it. Just take what fits in with you and within the distance you are happy to travel.

Grassroots usually pay around 2-4 weeks after the assignment.

  • Do you get to keep any of the things you buy when mystery shopping because I know you have to purchase to complete the sale experience? Also has anyone done any food related assignments yet?

    It depends on the job.

As a rule of thumb, you tend to keep cheap things and have to return more expensive things to either the mystery shopping company or take it back to the shop for a refund. You get to keep things that you cannot physically return like a meal or services such as an eye test.

I've done food mystery shops. Not sure if mean food related as in places you order food like cafes and restaurants, or food shops as in supermarkets. Either way, both types are available.

you choose which areas you do and what jobs you do / dont accept :)

    some pay mileage.
I had to purchase an expensive ish item last wek but then had to follow it up with another visit and go through the returns process so i had a refund :)

the only other ones ive done where i had to buy something was for £1 lol
  • yes just completed one today which had a spend of £17 but it was delicious and it's nice not to have to cook.

I am enjoying the ones I am doing, although I have scheduled one for tomorrow am at around 6am and now thinking I should have done that one abit later in the day.

Hiya everyone - I've read this thread and decided to give it a go too. :)

Anyway, just got a question: registered with RetailEyes and got my confirmation through today, but can't find any assignments in my area - in fact, can't find any anywhere in Scotland! Do they not operate in Scotland? Or did I just pick the wrong time?

(Annoyingly, checked out the town where we used to live in England and there's 3 pub ones going there right now :()
