Evening! Posting a spend of £21.86 on Monday/Today on the weekly grocery shop. Managed to find a 5kg bag of onions for a really good price so won't need those for a while. Hope everyone is doing OK with their challenges - I'm off to update my sig and then probably off to bed.
Will check in again tomorrow

Coxy11 Sorry to mess you around - can i please change my amount to £80, as my daughter is going to be spending more time here from uni, her flatmates party 24/7 and she needs some quiet time (gees, i really wonder if i brought the wrong child home). Translation, ive run out of clean clothes Mum is probably nearer the truth. Im not complaining. Anyhow, more money needed for some nice treats. Ive done an online MrT, which i will update when its been delivered.0

I joined in last month but absolutely didn't update here once..
I did come in at £87 of a £90 target so a great first 'drastic measures needed' month.
This month normal service is resumed, my target is £200.00.
Thanks for your kindness running these threads, having a budget wrote down on a website where I know no-one actually helped me incredibly! (not sarcasm) so thanks a lot and here is hoping I can do as well this month as I've already spend £72.?? on a Tesco shop coming tomorrow! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi all,
I've just spent the morning sorting out my budget planner and finances and now I'm ready for some challenges! Looks like my food spending is one of the areas I can cut down my spending by quite a lot. I'm not exactly sure how much I spend a month but I know its more than it needs to be!
I'd like to join you all with this months challenge and I'll aim for a target of £200 for the month.
Good luck everyone!0 -
£5.10 spent on a chippy tea last night. Only found out yesterday afternoon that we have to clear the stuffed to the rafters loft by Saturday morning to allow the men in to lay our free loft insulation. Quick tea enabled us to spend a couple of hours in the loft. Not that you can, it looks as stuffed as it did before we went up:eek:
DH is nipping to Mr T today to get some skimmed milk as we are almost out so that will be another £1.18 to add to the total. I don't have my spreadsheet at work so will update my total when I get in tonight.
I have done a meal plan for next week and my shopping list consists of full fat milk, fruit, value tissues, value cream cheese, a bag of oven chips, M&S sausages and that's about it! It doesn't seem right to be such a short list!:eek:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Eek! Already spent £114.54 so far but that does include a humungus (sp?) piece of beef that we have been eating since Sunday and some braising steak that went into the most amazing chilli. DS was home for two days and the temptation to treat him overwhelmed me slightly... I also bought all the ingredients for my baking and so far I have made four Christmas cakes (one for us and three to sell) and 16 Xmas puddings (one for us and 15 to sell). I've got another batch of fruit soaking for three more cakes - they smell amazing.
I also had all the building materials delivered yesterday - 4 x 1 ton bags, a pallette of paving slabs and 24 oak sleepers - we plan to be virually self sufficient for F&V next year with more coming along as the trees mature and become more productive. We need to be with that initial outlay!!
Save Dosh - :T thanks for the update on Florenceem she is much missed. For all you newbies she is one of the Queens of frugality with loads of helpful tips and advice - if you browse the recipes you'll definitely find some of her stuff there.
All the best

I would like to join in please and aim to spend £200 in November for four adults, two of whom are manual workers. To include all food and toiletries.
First thing to check out is packed lunches for hungry builders. The rule is that anything extra they want such as yoghurts they buy themselves.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hello all!
Really need to get my act into gear in November, because it's getting to the time where I need to start buying Xmas presents!
I've no excuse really - I've got plenty in the freezer - pork fillet, chicken thighs, burgers, mince, tortellini, sausages, stewing steak, fish fillets, lamb shanks, bacon etc. I reckon I've got enough for 12 meals, which considering I cook 3 times a week should last me a month.
Then I'm away the last week of November on a break, so won't be using food.
Unless there are any AMAZING yellow sticker offers (I don't get them that often so unlikely), I am planning to stick with buying veg, milk, toiletries and lunch items ONLY!
(Well - we'll see how that goes!)
My aim for November will be a MUCH stricter £50 + a £25 John Lewis/Waitrose voucher I got through the post yesterday (as a bonus when I booked my September holiday from hotels.com) + £4 of pending Mr T Clubcard vouchers = £79.
My thinking behind it being that when I set the budget higher (at £135), I feel a bit more relaxed and don't worry about the spends.
Not sure if this new approach will work, but the old one clearly isn't, so I may as well give it a shot!
Good luck everybody!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
