So, i post every single day, and im the one who has to check its not been posted by someone else?

We have posted at the same time, so even if i had looked, i would not have seen your post, and like i said befoe, you very obviously know i post, so why post as well?

I wouldn't worry about it CC, they are obviously just trying to wind you up. Everyone knows you do a fab job. Thanks for your continued efforts
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

As a newbie but comping for a few weeks. I know CC posts these but I didn't realise that it was only CC that is meant to post these, so I might of made a similar mistake as the other poster so I understand both points.
I don't post as much as I'd like to on here as I don't want to break one of these many little rules the regulars on MSE have or post someone elses regular comp. I try to read the guides but there are so much info! I'm just really grateful to everyone on here thats takes the effort to post and I hope to start posting when I understand how the whole thing works better.

    Let's get something clear here.
IF you want people randomly posting these large value comps IF and WHEN they can be bothered to, maybe posting the answer, maybe not...then you would regret that.
Compingcat has traditionally posted these, and when on holiday or unable to do so has arranged someone else reliable to do it in her place.
This is a RESPONSIBILITY she took on, there have been times when she has posted them late or even made errors with answers...and always apologised even though we all undertand that this stuff happens to humans because we also know that it's such a massive favour she does taking the time DAILY to do this hudfreds of times a year.
If you check the I won section you'll find a hell of a lot of people who have found themselves thousands of pounds richer without even watching the TV show who wouldn't have been without cat's work here.
The same thing goes for Painkiller , Cathyj and several other forum members who have been generous with their time (and reduced their own chances of winning massively by sharing the answers and reminding us all) ...it's not some clique for some members excluding others, it's a tried and tested way things are done by great and generous folk to save us all time and help us win.

There are masses of comps on here that are usually posted by the same person, and even ones that the same person usually answers. It's hard to find comps that aren't posted already.

Look at it this way, it's all more time for you to enter stuff.
Personally I sometimes wonder how certain people get to enter any at all they are so busy posting them for other....Lakshimi for one lol

Just be grateful they do and say thanks when you win. ;)

Timmmers you are spot on, of course. With these regular comps, it's best for them to be posted by the same person. And thank goodness we are lucky enough to have a whole bunch of generous folk here prepared to take these on. I've also wondered how Laks and some others find time to enter comps themselves, when they put soooo much into the forum.

However, there will always be the occasional new comper who won't realise that this is what happens and will jump the gun by posting one of the regulars. When this happens, could we not explain in a nice way, without assuming that they're intention was negative? It's too easy to get defensive about our forum heroes, and come out with guns blazing when someone treads on their toes.

I always try to assume that people's intentions are good, even when what they've done pees me off a bit, unless I am 100% certain that isn't the case. For instance, the thing about the newbie copying CC's style. You know, it's possible that this happened without realising that they were doing anything wrong. They might have thought, "I'll do something nice and post this comp...now then, to save working it all out myself, I'll copy from someone else's post."

All that was needed was to put them right, saying thanks, but no thanks. That way the newbie learns our ways without facing the forum's wrath. Also, think of all the grief, anger and bumping it would've saved, if someone had just explained kindly, and requested that the newbie's post be merged onto our CC's one.
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
    I make no apology
    THIS IS ME!

When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.
  • I though we were adults!!! the regular posters don't own any rights :p
Need to find time for more comping
Trying to lose weight through Slimming world
  • maybe the original poster thought they were being helpful by posting the competition and everything has just gotten out of hand.
maybe we should just forget about it now the original poster of this thread knows that these posts are done by cat and she gets them covered if she is away etc.
    Comping since Oct 2012 2012/£270 2013/£1328
