Opening/closing date & time:

· Competition opens for entries via PRTS, SMS and online as stated in the Dickinson’s Real Deal show (the “programme”).

· Competition closes for entries via PRTS, SMS at 9.30 a.m. as stated in the programme. Competition closes for online entries at 5.00pm no less than 3 working days after the closing date and time for entries via PRTS and SMS.

Competition draw date:

Within no more than one week of the closing date and time for all entries.

Method & cost of entry:

· PRTS Phone - call 0901 293 77 66 and follow instructions; up to 3 entries per phone number. Entrants who enter twice from the same phone number will be invited to stay on the line on their second call to enter the competition a third time without additional charge. The entrant’s third entry must be made on the second call from that phone number. Each call costs no more than £1.03 from BT landlines. Other networks may be higher and from mobiles considerably more.

· SMS text – send a SMS text to 63337 with A, B or C to indicate your answer to the question; up to 3 entries per phone number. SMS entrants will receive a SMS reply message acknowledging their SMS entry and inviting them to enter the competition via SMS a second time using the same mobile number to receive an additional entry into the competition without charge. Entrants who then send a second SMS text with their answer to 63337 by the competition closing date and time will be entered into the draw three (3) times for a chance to win the prize. Each of the SMS entrant’s first two (2) SMS text entries costs £1.00 plus one standard network rate message.

· Online – go to www.itv.com and follow the instructions; up to 3 entries per phone number.

Prize:

The prize is a variable cash value based on the value achieved at auction of a specified item or items.

I never knew that only one person can post certain competitions? how do i find out which competitions i can post then? is there a list somewhere?

There isnt a list, as no one person 'owns' any comp, but (and considering you have copied my style of posting exactly) im sure you have seen that i post these everyday, and it is mentioned in Velvet Gloves comping guide (stickied at the top of this forum), thati do.

As ive said, the reason it is left to me is to stop all the extra work it takes for a board guide to do, with sorting out merges - if the ITV comps were free for alls, with all the people watching, and who would like to contribute to the forum, the board would be full of the same tv comps, and the BGs would have to merge them all, which is not fair on them.

It makes it easier to fine the comps too if you know the same ones are posted by one person. I just look at comping cats posts to find the itv ones.

So, i post every single day, and im the one who has to check its not been posted by someone else?

That is tensy bit rude given that cc does post them all the time and you both posted at the same time and then two minutes later you posted on cc's thread it was a dupe. It would have been politer for you to have had yours removed as a dupe.

That's rich, if you had made any effort you would have seen there are competitions (ITV , various magazines etc) which have regular posters and who arrange for them to be covered when they cannot do them.

If everyone posted when an itv comp went live you would have hundreds of duplicates to merge as none of them would have shown up on a search at the time they were posted. Also stops the regular posters having to waste their time looking for duplicates and they can spend more time posting.

From the comping guide -

1 How can I find comps to post on here, I’ve entered loads & want to give some back?
Regular compers on MSE already post the daily ITV comps & will arrange for someone to cover them if they aren't going to be around - because the search facility won't pick something up for at least 30 mins after posting, please remember that regular posters will probably already have this in hand! Also, the magazine comps that have their own threads will have lists of people that buy the magazines, answer the puzzles then post the answers on here for others. Please respect these existing posters as it is their money they are handing over to buy the mags & give us the answers. If you are interested in helping out or posting a particular magazine then either post in that mags thread or if you can't find the actual thread then post in the Compers Chat Corner Board to ask about it & another comper will be along to help point you in the right direction.

At the end of the day, no comper 'owns the right' to post a particular comp but please take a moment, have a look around & ask in the Compers Chat Corner Board, if necessary, to ask if there is a regular poster for a particular comp. Let's keep this a friendly place to play, avoid duplication & misunderstandings
