A solid letter, but again I'd remove the identifying elements ;)
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

What's the betting that Haswell will ignore this? Instead he will tell you that if you pay now they can give you a reduced subscription to Disable Motoring UK.

I've just sent an email to UKCPS with an attachment of a picture of my mother's blue badge. Hopefully this will be the end of the matter but I'll let you all know. Thanks for all the advice.

While shopping in Glamorgan Vale Retail Park on Sunday 21/10/12 with my mother I recieved a Parking Charge notice issue number 866908 for not diplaying my mother's Blue Badge whilst in a disabled bay.

My mother walks with the aid of a walking stick due to arthritis and has difficulty getting out of the car without opening it fully. She also has severe dementia and has no understanding of traffic and therefore meets the 'definition of disability' under the Equality Act 2010.

I informed your employee on site about the disability and showed him the Blue Badge so he was fully aware that we were legally allowed to use the bay.

I therefore request that this Parking Charge Notice be cancelled and have attached a photo of both sides of my mother's Blue Badge.

I will also be forwarding a copy of this email to the owners of the Retail Park, Edgerley Simpson Howe LLP.

Request??? I'd go on the offensive and 'demand' it is cancelled unless you're intending to also take them to POPLA and waste their money.

Or, for an easy life, ignore them completely.

So Peter Haswell who will be reading this, this poster is being advised by us, if you refuse her it will cost you £32.40 to go to popla, and no matter what happens there it's binding on your company but not her. You know you are not making reasonable adjustments for a disabled person, you will be breaking the equalities act if you refuse the email sent. If this did go to the small claims she would get a defence from Alexi and others, you will lose its that simple.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Was it over that money UKCPS were supposed to have paid over to the charity, but (allegedly) didn't?

Just lately Haswell has been chickening out of court cases when somebody actually stands up to him and files a good defence.

I read somewhere it was the money, they didn't cough up when people paid and were offered the membership. If you notice they are not on their website any more.

Here's the news report:-

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2012/03/26/liverpool-parking-firm-coughs-up-1-000-of-fines-due-for-charity-after-echo-probe-100252-30622383/

It said its contributions were up to date, but DM-UK – which had tried to contact the firm for months – has now decided to sever all ties with the company.
