Are these easy to use and download apps onto? I've never had an android phone have stuck to iPhones and iPads so need something fairly easy to set up etc.

Mrsg- its really easy to download apps onto the Nexus 7 and other android devices. I have bought my 8 yr old a nexus 7, and played around with it and downloaded loads of apps for him and it was really easy. Hope that helps.

ebuyer are doing the acer iconia, almost same specs as nexus but more connectivity, screen is not as good, but no expert but would a child notice or care about the difference. It is £180 but at the moment it does have £50 cashback, so £130.

Or what about, a simple 7" tablet for about £70 mark, again from ebuyer. Tablets these days, they are a device that may last for the year or maybe 2. If you have the spare cash to get a decent tablet then yes is worth it, but if just for simple playing games, and some the educational games then one of the cheaper tabs would be better.
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j

Your missing the point. The OP did not ask advise about how to raise their child they asked advice about which tablet to buy.

If they are seriously giving a 3 yr old Grand Theft Auto to play then they are screaming out for parenting advice.

Obviously they don't know it. Yet.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

A good cheap tablet is the Momo 9 III. It's an android 4.0.3 (ICS) 7" laptop with a decent screen as far as sensitivity. Costs about £50 - £60.
Screen won't be as sensitive or as fast to load/respond as Ipads and the big brand androids but for that price, it's a decent compromise.
After that I'd get the Nexus 7".
No need to go bigger than 7". 7" for them is probably like 15" for adults.
My advice is don't use it too much and not within a couple of hours before bedtime as the flashing lights and colours overstimulate their amazing brains!

I see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" is now £119 (after cashback) on carphonewarehouse, excellent tablet also with Android ICS.
