Go online and check the Asda price guarantee...

I have seen the ad where the bored housewives with too much time on their hands share how great it is to type in your receipt number online and see how much you have saved but in reality noone actually does this surely??

i do, not a bored housewife either, its just a way to save money, if your lucky you might have money off, if you can buy what you want when you want and not have money worries then think yourself lucky, most people need to save where they can atm

Sounds like typical inefficiency, (it would appear they didn't have them and started the promotion too early) - if this was the case I'd expect the Manager should have apologised and handed out £5 ASDA gift cards from the kiosk (or paid back a fiver onto the customer's card.) Maybe not official store policy but for a tiny bit extra he would have satisfied customers (personally if I had to go through all that fuss my next next shop would probably be going somewhere else.)

Keep complaining as politely as you can and make helpful suggestions and I'd amazed if they didn't offer you some kind of goodwill gesture - happy returning customers are much better that disgruntled ones who will won't return.

Get in contact with head office and ask politely for a goodwill gesture.
  • If they said to you "sorry we don't have the vouchers could
I can offer you either £5 off your shop bill today or offer you a gift voucher from the kiosk for £5 if preferred.)

If they had done that this board would probably more praise than vent/warning.

C'mon UK sort out the customer service!

Don't think I am some sort of rockerfella, that I am certainly not. It just doesn't affect me paying £1.00 more for something in Tesco.

read the original post and then you will see

I have read it and it's inaccurate. I have a £5 voucher in front of me from a shopping I got yesterday. I've not had to queue at all to get it.

Tesco's is further to get to than asda, so it helps me
fair play if you can spare the extra £1, i have to watch each penny, shame to say even asda is a luxury these days

    hooray.. an answer..
so your store gave you a voucher at the till for your next shop as you paid for this shop??

so this fiasco with raffle tickets is only in some stores.. yes??

Oh please read the replies. Tell you what send me you receipt number and I'll print & post you the voucher. It's not a new process and not difficult! PM me with your details if you're able to do that without posting it as a drama.

Alternatively you can go online yourself and do it in less time that you've taken to post on this thread.:A

I have deleted the original post altho it remains in replies ( makes little sense in places now ) which is unimportant as not much made sense in the replies anyway as the post was not read properly or snippets were used to slate each other!!

THIS IS NOT THE INTENTION OF FORUMS LIKE THIS!!
the intention is to give advice and help each other which only the minority do whilst the majority end up s l a g g ing each other with no sensible answers or replies.
so its now a pointless exercise..

I would like to completely remove the whole thread as I started it but dont know how to ..

dare I ask for sensible replies.. nah wont get any so I wont bother!!!
  • Can someone get a copy of the original post from
    Google cache for me please?

I'm curious as to what caused all this trauma. :p

And OP, you can't remove the thread. If you don't want to make a thread public, don't start it in the first place.
