    Morning all

Just a quick hello. Haven't managed to keep up at all recently. I think bitsy kept you all updated. Baby arrived safe and sound :D after a difficult few days contracting on and off, my waters went. They planned to start me on the hormone drip to get things going as I was only contracting every 10 mins and baby had decided to poo in me... Obv the thought of the drip was to much for him to bare as he decided he was coming there and then so 40 mins later I was holding him in my arms. On my notes the labour time states 40mi :rotfl: we both had to stay in for 24 hrs to be observed but all is good :D

Ds has loved being a big brother. I've been so proud of the way he has handled it. He's told all his teachers and friends about it :D let's hope it continues

Will sort out some pics later on this afternoon when I'm on the laptop :)

Hope everyone is well. Hugs to those who need them x

    Hi all.

I've read but not taken in everything, so I'll just put a pilr of (((HUGS))) on the table, help yourselves.:D

Lou many congratulations - I did go a bit _pale_ at the baby pooing in you, but it sounds like it's all worked out well in the end.:o

We've done a Mr T run this morning, but only spent £14.71, thankfully. Mr LW picked up the tab:A because I'm skint til I get this month's pension.

Megan will be going home tomorrow afternoon; she's been so good, we hardly know she's here!:D

Mr LW is currently giving the car it's weekly once-over (oil, tyres, wash-bottle, style of thing) he's also had to replace a blown bulb in one of the sidelights. I've told him to make sure to add checking the lights to the weekly list - I can go and sit in the car and turn all the lights on in turn, while he goes round and checks they work. It's especially important, with darker mornings and evenings, I feel.:o

From memory, I think it's toad-in-the-hole for dins today - must check my spreadsheet in a minute; then if I'm right, I'd better get cracking on dins!:D

We're off to the local moot tonight - Damh the Bard is performing; we've been looking forward to it for ages!:T

    congratulations Loulou2010 :)

yesterday I did a brief audit and reshuffle of the freezer searching in vain for a chicken. Found a pheasant, pork loins, a chicken carcass and mince that had been lurking for an age, so defrosted those overnight and batch cooking them all today: lots of casseroles in the offing as the meat is fine but doesn't look pretty.

also got some baking apples that are turning so picked some blackberries with DD yesterday and am going to make a crumble for freezing.

my blackberry bushes in the garden are flowering now? there's nothing around to pollinate them so I may go out with a paint brush and see if we get a last flush of berries before the serious frosts.

glad I stripped and washed the kids bedding yesterday as it's not drying weather today.

started knitting again this week in the evenings and have finally cut the material for my winter curtains in the lounge (bought it a year ago!).
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

    Morning All

Two Fishes - Definitely go and see your advisor. My DS2 had to access the hardship fund after OH died and it stopped him from starving!! Things will get better for you, let us know how you get on.
RR - Glad you had a good day yesterday.
cat-smith - Hope OH is ok.
Hugs to those not feeling great, hope you get better soon.

Work last night was busy but ok, worked on my own for a while and found it quite theraputic! DD had gone to friends for dinner after work (thankfully they also gave her a run home) and had a good chat about her dad's death. Even though it was 7 years ago she still struggles from time to time and I think someone having a good chat to her has helped. She was telling me about it and after many tears and hugs she managed to ask some questions she hadn't before because she thought it would upset me (it did but was ok).

Anyway, no rain here but not washing, I will save it to take to work tomorrow night (big industrial washers and driers), will change my bed and put on a flannelette (sp) sheet!

In the middle of sorting the kitchen cupboards - how come I check all use by dates and something still slips through the net!!

Enjoy your Sundays all. Take care. XX

  • Thanks BB:D

I have bookmarked it and will have a read later.
Someone is sending me some of his sourdough starter he has had for a few years so I just have to keep the thing alive for years now;)
  • Thanks to everyone for your lovely advice - I was at church and then having lunch which is why I didn't reply! Student Welfare have given me a bridging loan, I have a counselling session on Tuesday and I'm going to hopefully see my doctor on Friday. Judi I am 23 so sadly too old for a Bursary Fund but will apply for Access To Learning money. Staying with family midweek on my days off for a bit of a break. Basically I've applied for a maintenance grant (the means-tested bit) as a self-supporting student but being under 25 I have to provide income evidence. Fine, got DWP to send a letter with details of my Income Support/JSA. Apparently though this comes under the minimum income of £7000-odd that I need to be able to claim that I was living independently! Despite the fact that the government expected me to live on JSA...

I have lots of pasta in the cupboards, depression has meant I haven't been bothered to cook and have had *whisper* ready meals but I really enjoy cooking so will have to get back into it. I fancy a really good curry actually!

Congrats Lou, putting it all in perspective I think :)
