Just got back from my alitalia glitch ticket trip to New York City. Flew out of Birmingham to Geneva for £55 with Easyjet, stayed in the cheapest hotel in central Geneva for £26pp for the night (private room). From Geneva airport we got the train into the city for free.
Next day we left Geneva and headed to Rome on our first alitalia flight. From here we connected to our flight bound for JFK in New York. Had a great time in New York and went to Philly and Washington DC on the megabus for day trips for FREE!
Left NYC a week later on the glitch flight bound for Rome. Skipped the last flight from Rome to Venice and instead boarded a alitalia flight (£55) to London Heathrow Airport.
Very impressed with the amount of food and drinks on alitalia and I thank them for honouring the glitch tickets. Did not find Geneva interesting but hey ho the side trip to Geneva still beats flying direct from UK to NYC.
Total costs - Easyjet to Geneva (£55) > Geneva hostel (£26) > Alitalia Geneva to NYC and NYC to Rome (£33) > Alitalia to London (£56). Got the train back from Heathrow to Birmingham for free using the codes from red spotted hanky promotions :-). So approx £170 return to NYC including a night in Geneva!0 -
Mr Wang have you used your alitalia glitch tickets yet? If so i'ld be interested to hear about your experience with alitalia!0
