I was having the same sort of problem, and I found I had to log onto MYSky account and order "On Demand " although it is a free service, and you are not charged for it, it would seem that you have to activate it.
Within 10 mins of my order it was all up and running - lovely0 -

Covers most points.
The new Sky Router/Hub the SR101 includes information on how to get the service. Its got a Sky+HD icon that flashes when stuff is being downloaded......................................nice?!!
Mind you Sky have gone a bit Bauhaus with the styling.. its chunky, but no mains brick needed. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
You are NOT thick. Nowadays people feel like that, it's ridiculous, you can't know something unless you are told or able to find it.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Hi,
Can I ask a 'thick' question too? Firstly, those Sky links aren't working for me - now when I go via google. Is anyone else having that problem?
I have the 'on-demand' option, but it only includes the standard pre-recorded stuff from Sky, not the BBC iPlayer and ITV players etc. I've tried a few steps from sky's online guide, mainly being to make sure the internet connection is turned on.
However, when I test it out, it tells me that the connection is 'not ok'. Which sort of makes sense as my router is not connected to the sky box. So - here is the silly question - do I need to put a cable between the router and the HD box?
Thanks0 -
How do you think the internet connection will get to your Sky box unless you provide one? Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to your box.
Sky even show you a pretty picture:-That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The links are to Sky's own website and are still live, so it must be a problem at your end...Firstly, those Sky links aren't working for me - now when I go via google. Is anyone else having that problem?
As already explained, the Sky decoder is not a wireless device and so requires an ethernet cable...do I need to put a cable between the router and the HD box?0 -

I thought it might come down the Sky cable... foolish I suppose!
I'll see if I can find a cable and will test tonight. Thanks0 -
