Firstly a massive big THANK YOU to CATM for letting us all know about this.
When doing this I planned my mission and carried it out as follows 1. Last night emptied shampoo bottle what was left into a Jam jar. 2. Looked out another empty bottle as well to take. 3. left home and arrived in Southampton at 08.30 hrs. 3. Go into Poundland and select classy looking shampoo for a pound. 4. Empty outside into your empty bottle. 5. Enter Boots at 08.35 and proceed to the Ojon section at the rear of the store. 6. No queue and greeted with a smile from a smartly dressed young lady who was awaiting to hand out leaflets. Gave empty bottle and received two new bottles of Ojon in plastic wrap. this young lady then spoke to me about the product and its qualities, excellent service given. 7. Go along to John Lewis who did not open until 9.00. Noticed about a dozen people loitering outside with bags possibly with empty bottles in. I then positioned myself where I knew the shutter would open. 8. Shutter opened late at 09.02 hrs. As I entered a couple of people started to run towards the section. I was then third in the queue which was forming behind me. The John Lewis girl chewing gum didn't have a clue what was going on until another girl behind her said "Oh I know, it's outside I'll go and get them". No apology, no usual high standard so we were left waiting for five minutes until the stock came out onto the floor to be opened. Then looking down her nose as we were lowlife a "Fill in this form "( no please, still chewing gum ) was requested. You would have thought that with all the telephone inquires the previous day ( including me who was told they had many inquires ) it would have been better prepared. I got my pack and when I left the queue was stretching through the store. I left the store at 09.15 Mission accomplished.0 -
Turned up at John Lewis Brent Cross at 10:05, already a queue of about 20 people. One guy was handing out forms, which only asks for Name and e-mail, not actual address.
A middle aged woman in front of me looked foolish, as she didn't bring a bottle. I brought a whole selection, including a not quite empty conditioner bottle, hoping they will accept a Vittel water bottle, so I can still use the conditioner left. No, has to be shampoo or conditioner bottle. The MSE article said "any" bottle, which is not accurate.
Got the shampoo and conditioner. Cheers.
Sorry, but you are wrong on this one and Martin is correct. I just reread his MSE article again. He said take ANY empty shampoo or conditioner bottle, so it is quite clear a water bottle will not do. Anyway, I got mine at 9.00am this morning. Glad you got a set anyway. Thank you so much to MSErs who helped with this!0 -
Got a set in Frasers at Glasgow after missing out at John Lewis - delighted so thanks OP.
It's amazing how things like this can really bring out the worst in people though. There was a woman making a complete exhibition of herself, marching up and down the queue outside Frasers clearly carrying the set she just got at John Lewis, counting the people in it, mouthing off very loudly about how she would be bouncing her empty bottles off the SAs heads if she didn't get another set. Our Frasers has counters down the middle and two aisles each side. When the shop opened everyone calmly walked down one side to queue at the Ojon counter, but not this lady. She started running down the other empty aisle and then reappeared at the counter shouting 'I was at the front! I was at the front!'. She quickly realised she had skipped the 25 or so people she had spent the last half hour counting who were now scowling at her, and sheepishly retreated haha. I thought that would be the end of her but then she marched up to the counter to tell the SAs how they should be handling the distribution!
I'm glad to say everyone else was civilised and managed to retain their dignity! Enjoy your freebies folks.0 -

I would like to add my thanks too to catm
Recced John Lewis yesterday to find exact Ojon stand location and inquired when the store opened.
Arrived this morning just after 9.00am, and there was already a small orderly queue at the Ojon stand!Traded my empty bottle of shampoo....poured the remaining shampoo into another clear plastic bottle last night. Job done!!

Hi, does anyone know whether House of Fraser at King William St, Monument has stock?0

The giveaway seems a little disorganised and unfair. Certain towns/cities have two, three or more stores that customers can just wander over to to collect multiple sets, whilst other towns/cities only have the one store; and all these stores have different amounts to give away, some having hundreds and others only having 15 (as someone posted earlier). Plus some stores gave away goody bags/samples/vouchers once they were out of sets, whilst others just packed up and went home.0
