Went to the Market Street, Manchester branch of Boots an hour after opening, they were giving away the last one. Well I say that, I walked straight past them and when I turned around a guy swooped in and got the last one

I sent my boyfriend to the Brighton Boots and he phoned me to say they only had sample packets, when he asked the lady in charge whether he was just too late she said they were only sent 15 sets and the staff had open the boxes and taken 10 before she had arrived at work! I know there has to be some perks when working in retails but still!

Just back from Boots Chelmsford, Essex. The store opens at 08.30, not sure if they started the giveaway at 08.30 or 9, but at 09.38, I was #98 of the 100 they had to give away.

The were somewhat smart, giving each person a little raffle ticket while you went away to fill out the mailing list form, so orderly. So you only got your item upon handing over your empty bottle, the form and the raffle ticket. Although that being said, a PCSO was standing nearby, overseeing the event, so not sure how it was when it first opened.

I was having a chat with the two young ladies running it, very pleasant, as they were out of the shampoo they were next getting out 'goody bags'. Didn't get a chance to nose into it, but guessing samples or vouchers.

I went to HOF to try to get one as well , shop opened at 10.00 i as there at 10.05 and none left.

My mam and I both managed to get the shampoo / conditioner freebie from the main Boots store in Newcastle city centre just before 9 this morning. There was a small queue but it was well organised so no problems :j The staff had a big box full of empties so I'm not sure how many people had been in already as the store usually opens at 8am

The John Lewis store was also doing the promotion and there looked to be a few people waiting for it to open at 9.

Managed to get to John Lewis before opening and bagged the first set! Queue very long immediately! Great freebie - thanks OP!

Got into Nottingham at about 9:15, breezed through Boots and picked up my bottles straight away as there was no queue. Got to John lewis before shutters opened and there was already a queue! Staff were looking at opening a couple of stations to get through everyone quicker as it was massive as I left!

I imagine John lewis will run out soon, but you may get lucky in Boots as I'm not sure many people know it's now stocked there/they're taking part

Edit: according to FB, Nottingham Boots has run out, guess they had less stock that I thought!

Turned up at John Lewis Brent Cross at 10:05, already a queue of about 20 people. One guy was handing out forms, which only asks for Name and e-mail, not actual address.

A middle aged woman in front of me looked foolish, as she didn't bring a bottle. I brought a whole selection, including a not quite empty conditioner bottle, hoping they will accept a Vittel water bottle, so I can still use the conditioner left. No, has to be shampoo or conditioner bottle. The MSE article said "any" bottle, which is not accurate.

Got the shampoo and conditioner. Cheers.
