rollers are seen as disposable at the end of the day in trade,
    Not my philosphy. ;)

So you recommend a very short pile wool type roller?, I think that's the type I have in the draw.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Of course but the finish you get does depend on the type of roller sleeve you use and the techniques you use to apply the paint. If its a case of 1 hour each side with a brush or 15 /20 minutes for both sides to get the same result I know what I would choose.

BTW those daft foam things are next to useless.

    Cheers

1 hour, or more accurately 45 minutes, to do both sides and the two edges. I don't paint the top and bottom. I tried those foam things, as you say, rubbish. I tried some woolly ones, but they shed hairs. (Bought from B&Q, cough cough.) Cane Adam do some mini roller sleeves (bright orange) which have a velvet surface, and a squishy foam texture, I find them very good for touching up walls. They are a bit pricey at ~£3 each to non trade.

Some pros use a roller to put the paint on the door, then a brush to lay off.

    .

Probably the sort I have and have never used, they have a distinct pile effect, like long haired velvet.

I shouldn't comment as I've never used rollers on gloss, but there is something inherently "odd" in pouring loss into a roller tray.

Thinking about it it must be because I almost always use none drip/gel type paints.:rotfl:

    ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Why move a perfectly acceptable thread/now debate on a topic within household money saving after a week of exposure there??

Get on the case or get off the pot. poor response.

Because only the thread title/lead post were read and we were in moving mode anyway today?

No those orange ones are just a fuzzy coating over a spongy core. Tried one once just for the hell of it. Went in the bin after about 2 minutes. I think the ones you have are varnish sleeves which are fine for gloss.

I thought that once - until I tried it - now for a big area I wouldn't go back. Takes some time to learn how to do it and get a good finish though.

Yuk! Revolting stuff - but thats just my HO.
