Are they likely to do this?
In my experience, no.0 -
Doubtful they would ask for the full outstanding balances but if you are successful in a claim they may expect this money to go towards the debts.
Have a read of the previous posts especially the reply Martin had from CCS.0 -

Starting with Abbey Credit Card as I already know how much they've had off me. £285 thats £351.01 with interest!!
Will post letter tomorrow and await their reply!!
I do have one concern that the accounts I will be claiming against are all in a debt management plan with CCCS, will this jepordise my plan at all even if it is my intention to pay any recleimed cash off my debts in the plan?
Any advice please guys.
Thanks in advance
No, because the refunds will automatically come off your balances assuming you owe at least that much or more.0 -

Yes, you can claim.
No, they won't cancel your DMP but the refund will come off the balance.
Proceed as you would if you weren't on a DMP - using the standard templates.0 -
I sent my letters off yesterday. I've gone for the bank accounts that are closed and credit cards that didn't accept my offers and are now with DCAs. Depending on how I get on with these there are 3 credit card companies who did accept my offers on the DMP that I might also try.
I'll keep you all posed with how I get on.One day I will be debt free and fat free!:grinheart0 -

Refunds DO NOT automatically come off the balance. It depends on the company involved. I owe money to first direct, yet any refund will be paid directly to me by cheque.0 -

Hi
I have succesfully reclaimed some bank charges from closed accounts and accounts that are not connected with my IVA. I have at least 5 debts that are included in my IVA which include 1 overdraft and 4 credit cards. I was late with almost every minimum payment for the last year before I started my IVA after my marriage broke down and was heavily charged which become my downward spiral.....
My question is, I am within my right to contact these lenders and request my charges back even though I am now registered as a defalut? Im am tempted to write anyway, but wondered if it will cause any problems with my IVA.
Does anyone know the answer?
Cheers

Am new to all this, but would like to know would i still be able to claim any bank and credit card charges, which am sure would be a few thousand which i have had in the past 6 years. As i was unable to keep payments etc up on all accounts. My accounts are now closed and paying off my debts with no interest through PAYPLAN.Would be grateful if anyone could help me with this matter.0
