I'd rather have a man with linty feet than crusty socksOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Yes...if I don't use vinegar, my socks usually stand up by themselves when I take them off!'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0

rofl @ me - mooching round the boards yesterday and came back to have a look at this post - however, the OH has a habit of nosing into what I am looking at some times (we sit together, he watches TV, I mooch round here lol), and I was merrily scrolling down, when I noticed my earlier post about feet from hell! aarrgghh, aarrgghh - frantic scrolling and clicking pmsl.
Anyway - thanks for the tips - I will definitely be boiling his feet in vinegar from now on lol.
If I can cure the fetid feet, anything is possible........."It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

My little darlings now present me with the challenge of 'trampoline socks', they're the ones that they take off trainers for a bounce then forget to replace trainers. Result - very dirty socks. One friend has taken to putting the socks in the bin . So I remembered that I'd inherited granny's old wash board. Soaked the socks in biotex and soda crystals, then when I'd collected enough I donned my rubber gloves and swished the socks on Laundry soap and scrubbed. Magic! Even socks that had been, ahem, embarrassingly filthy have now come clean. And just think of those calories! Saved a fortune in dead socks!0

When my kids were little, I always washed their socks by hand in the evenings. Squish about in soapy water to get the loose dirt off, then place each sock over the left hand (if you're right handed!) with the sole of the sock over the palm of your hand. Rub with a bar of 'scrubbing soap' (or Vanish) and then scrub 'like billy-o' with the nail brush! Usually brought off most stains - even grass stains. You can then rinse them and throw in with the next wash if you prefer to finish them that way, or rub with a towel and dry on the line, maiden or radiator.
Have you ever thought of making the kids bounce in their bare feet, cushty? Dirty feet are sooooo much easier to clean than dirty socks.

Morning guys, someone metioned on here HM washing powder, how do u make it? I would love to try it. Did make gloop once but as I was pg at the time couldn't use it as the smell made me feel sick-and I had a job to store it. Figured powder would be easier to store. At the moment I have been using easy aloe vera liquid from Home bargains or their easy non bio- can't use bio as we have a lot of eczema in the household. So if I could get the recipe for my own that would be great. Thanks kal25:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11
