The actual cost of these flatscreen TV's to my surprise and opposite to what many say on here are actually very cheap.
Bah you posted that as I was searching
If it helps any further, ipods and cameras are cheap too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I made 500quid the other day for an afternoons work. Am I on 260k a year?
To be fair, "less than a morning's work" usually means you're employed on a fixed salary, rather than doing consulting etc for a fixed fee.0 -

Flat screens arent cheap especially 42 inch plus ones which people seem to buy now a days and you are looking at £400-£1000 for one of these.
32 inch TV's are bedroom ones now for most people I know.
Also the cost of Sky, broadband, mobile phones etc probably add £200-£300 to the average family monthly bills which were not there when I was child and thats not adding on the cost of all the technology people own.
You also have to remember these things are are not built to last or are outdated within a couple of years. Just look at the Iphones, Laptops and many TV's.
As for Mewing, I remember a TV show on the BBC a few years a go where a bloke was mewing every 2 years to fund his lifestyle of the above items plus a few others including a hotub.0 -

Like most technology, the cost of flat screen tvs is now much lower than a couple of years ago. In fact I dont know where you would go to get a CRT now.
In many ways its a shame as this was a very mature technology with a low carbon footprint, that for SD broadcasts provided superior picture quality to an LCD or low end plasma.0 -
