a bit late to add, but my parents threw a party today, about 20 people. Most people bought a bottle of wine or some chocolates, but one couple turned up with.... an opened pack of Christmas cards.

I'll never forget the first Christmas present I received from a boyfriend. I'd just come out of hospital and was staggered to find he'd bought me an A to Z of serial killers:rotfl:

I had that book, and liked it!! i hate it when people get me bottles of wine - i don't drink....

My mother purchased me a pack of several pieces of underwear with tacky, sexually suggestive phrases on them. I could only hope my mum didn't get it (not that unlikely, she has asked me at various points what 69, cottaging and cowgirl meant) but it still made me wince.

I don't know what cowgirl means.....

I'm another one who hates bottles of wine - loads of people seem to presume that everyone enjoys it.

I will happily take them off your hands :j
  • I got an ironing board off my outlaws one xmas - the kids were really excited when they saw it wrapped up, they shouted 'Mummy, Grandma's bought you a surfboard!'.

Husband buys me useless pressies when he bothers to remember too!

Google it - I had to Google cottaging and I'm still not sure I understand what it is. I thought it was 'doing it in other people's houses' :D

I got a pack of paper napkins with a picture of the angels playing harps from a family relative. She actually put the pack into a box then wrapped it.
