Been using for 22 days now and have to say my stomach does seem to be smaller, I know its not for weight loss and your right eating sensibly and exercise is the only way to lose weight. I dont need to lose weight as such (5 foot 8 and 11 stone is okay.) but my wobbly belly does get to me.

Will let you know after 8 weeks how it has gone. xx

Hi lab-lover are you still using it? If so how are the results.

Also can it be used on flabby arm?

Hi, stopped using it now for at least a month. Problem was i got a psoriasis rash on my stomach before the six weeks were up. I was on holiday last week and this week just recovering from really bad stomach bug.

I would say that after about 3 weeks of using it i did see a difference, but you absolutely have to use it every day. You also (obviously have to cut out junk) have to eat sensibly, which i was and also regular walking. I was gutted that my rash appeared and not sure if it was connected to the slendertone. If you use as they say and eat healthily and maybe do other exercise then you will see a difference, in my opinion.

I will start again, cos it was alot of money to pull out. As it turns out i have lost more than half a stone in 4 days after my bug!! but not recommended. My stomach is still a bit flabby so as i say will start from scratch again and will let u know.

You can only use this one for the stomach, dont know if theres one for arms. there is one for bum and thighs i think. xxxx

Just a quick update - at the moment you can get "Slendertone Flex" (ladies) belts in Argos for £59.99. (Catalogue price still says £69.99) but I've just been to buy one (expecting to part with £69.99) only to be told its on special offer for £59.99. Dont know how long for though!

Am sitting here wearing mine now for the first time. Its a weird sensation!! Plan on using it once a day for the full eight weeks. I've taken a measurement of my waist before I started.

I'm not flabby per se, I'm a size 8-10 on average and weigh just 8 stone (I'm 5'4") BUT since giving birth to my daughter last July (first baby) I've not been happy with my tummy since. Its hardly baggy and I've certainly lost the "jelly belly" you get after giving birth but its certainly not as toned as it used to be either! Hence my reason for purchasing one of these. I never manage many sit ups or ab crunches as I suffer from a bad back due to a horse riding accident I had years ago.

Will let you know if this works as I go along!! :D
  • I just bought a cheapie version of these today (can't afford a proper slendertone and thought, hey, at £5 I don't mind so much if it's rubbish!!), it feels so odd! Can definitely feel the muscle action though. Hopefully can tone my stomach whilst I'm sat revising, saves time on the sit-ups!! (assuming, of course, I spend my time revising instead of on here...) lol

I have used mine after to help my shift my post baby tummy. They absolutely do work at toning tummy muscles. They don't make you lose weight (obviously) but they do tone muscle.

  • Hi guys,

I think I'll get one of those things. However, do you know what's the difference between the SLENDERTONE belt (www . slendertoneusa . com)
and the FLEX-BELT( www . theflexbelt . com)

If you look carefully you will notice that even they look to be exact clones on the pictures, the brand will vary from SLENDERTONE to FLEX-BELT on the name that appears on the boxes and logos.

According to this site (www . mydietarea . com/ab-belt/) the FLEXBELT is basically the "new" model of the SLENDERTONE.

But can anybody tell for sure what's the difference?

  • Slendertone now have two product ranges. The "Flex" systems come with a controller built in that can only be used for that product. The first "System" product costs a bit more but comes with a controller that can be used with all the "System" products so you end up paying less if you buy another product to tone another part of your body.

We have the male flex abs belt. They are unisex and both my partner and myself use it. The belts are not designed for large weight loss or for giving you a six pack like you'd see on the front of Men's Health. I think the TV advert explains it quite clearly that there for getting rid of that final little belly roll or love handles that you struggle to get rid off through exercise or dieting. What they also do is tone and tighten your abs which has the effect of pulling in your stomach. I think it's this second thing that causes the biggest apperance of weight loss. Doing sit ups won't tighen these muscles, rather they cause the muscle to grow which if your a man can result in that barrel look.

We've been happy with the belt but you do need to pull the levels up as far as you can take to make the most of it. It's obvous that the electrical simulation affects people in different ways. I'm not sure if it's to do with muscle size or the thickness of the fat layer but I find it uncomfortable to push too fair beyond level 70 whereas my partner can easily do the maximum intensity of 130.

We also have the flex shorts. These are female only. Men can wear these over concerns that you might fry your chances of being a father so I can't comment on how these feel. They are a pain to take off and really you do need someone to help.

The shorts do seem to building the muscles up which might not be the look your going for.

Finally I've being looking at Slendertone products for 10 years and they've never really put their prices up, if anything the ab belts have come down from £100 to £70-80. I think they're pretty affordable now and if you are dieting and exercising they're a convienent way to throw another 40 minutes of exercise into your day without missing out on family time.

I thought about a Slendertone, but I have just acquired a Wii Fit and it seems to be working wonders, toning up all the right muscles!!
