Has anyone done any business with these people? They phoned us 3 days ago offering cheap insurance for our Sky kit, and insisted we gave them our bank account details. We refused and said if they sent us paperwork we would complete it. The salesman then proceeded to harangue us for about 10 minutes shouting down the phone claiming we could trust them. I would never give my bank details to anyone calling out of the blue! Since then they have called at least 6 times (we see the number and don't pick up). Any advice on how to get rid of them? Thanks

Sign up to Telephone Preference Service (TPS), which should at least stop calls originating in the UK.0

Only company Sky use for these repair protection plans are Domestic & General....

Any other company that calls you are basically scam artists however in my opinion as an ex Sky engineer, none of these protection plans are worth the money.
I mean why pay £99 a year for a protection plan when a service call is only £65?.....0 -
As above, you simply don't need such insurance. So trusting the company is not the point. A service call can be got for free from Sky anyway if you use the right technique. And the boxes are free on freegle or cheap as chips on ebay.
There's not a lot else that can go wrong with a sat install. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks, unfortunately we are already with TPS! It doesn't really stop them all.0

Thanks for your advice, we are now going to cancel our "support" from Sky.0

I think we were just so flabbergasted by the tirade that was coming over the speaker that didn't think to cut the call!! Mind you, when we did he just rang back...0

I was a bit annoyed with the sale pitch myself, but the guy on the phone has persuaded me it was worth spending money on their service. About a month ago I had a problem with my Sky box - an engineer was sent by them next day, fixed it, and in addition a new remote was posted. Cannot complain0

The same service you would have gotten by going thru Sky direct for a lot less money,if any....0 -
First posts extolling the virtues of this or that are always worth investigation. Nice one Kurtis_Blue.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
