Why did the seller return the cash? Would that not have paid for the item? Seems like a very confusing transaction!

Something doesn't add up here and I don't just mean the cash.

You send money to a seller.

They claim the envelope of cash you sent was empty.

They send you the cash back saying it wasn't enough. You then pay by gift and they refuse to refund, they wont send cash (again) as it isn't secure?

Where did the cash suddenly appear from? Why didn't they keep the cash and ask you to add a top up by Paypal? Why did you have any further dealings with them after the accusation regarding the cash?

I am hoping you are a troll as the other explanation is medically impossible.

They admitted that money was there but not the full amount so they sent it back,I didn't send the money to them I paid an invoice they sent me,I didn't know it was going to be sent as a gift,I am not a troll just a novice buyer on eBay and learnt the hard way.

So why send it back? Why not ask you for the difference?

Even my neighbours 5 year old son would work out the simple maths there.

It's nothing to do with being a novice buyer. Clearly you didn't learn the first time.

There are big discrepancies in your story.

There is no helping some people, hence the lack of advice.
  • this is a separate problem from the first,if you dont have anything positive to contribute then please dont comment.

I have to agree, although it could also be the seller being weird.
For example, earlier in this thread you say that when you asked the seller for a refund, and they said they couldn't do paypal, you suggested they post you the money.
They refused, because they didn't think it was secure to send money through the post, yet later on in this thread you say that they returned the cash that you posted initially via post.
