I am so very sorry to hear of your plight. Basically, this post is not mortgage related and it may be best to post elsewhere on MoneySavingExpert - I am sure someone will be along soon to point you in the right direction.
Regarding TFS you do have a couple of options. Do you have a copy of their agreement confirming refund of upfront fees if claim unsuccessful? If so, you are in a strong position. Contact TFS to confirm you will issue a simple summons for the outstanding fee, and/or contact the Ministry of Justice (under whom TFS will be registered) if your fees are not re-paid within 7 days. If still outstanding report your circumstances to MOJ on 01283 233 309 and explain your predicament. Very best of luck.0 -
We have never had insurance and told them that but they said we may have been miss sold out mortgage.
Your data is not in the public domain (other than which lender you used as that is on land registry and some claims companies use that list to phone people). So, with them not knowing anything about you, they had no way of saying whether you were mis-sold or not.He them upfront on his credit card at total of £1700 being promised he would get it back it claim unsuccessful.
Oh dear. Goodbye £1700It was unsuccessful and we have been trying to get our money back for over 8 months now.
Sounds about right. You wouldnt expect success and this common fraud means you typically lose the advance fee you paid.We could really do with some advise as this is the last thing we need with everything else going on.
I'm afraid you have been scammed. It is known as advance fee fraud. And it comes from Swansea as well which is the cold called scam capital of the UK.
This company is regulated (lightly) by the ministry of justice. So, you should complain to them to see if the MoJ can pressure the company to refund you.
In future, do not act on cold calls. Especially if it is from Swansea. Putting in fraudulent complaints against mortgage brokers/advisers is also not fair on the broker/adviser. They will have to suffer the stress and anxiety that a fraudulent complaint brings as well as the costs. So, you are not the only loser on this. The poor adviser/broker you complained about has had it too.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
