  • 25, and a customer care administrator/service call centre lass. Love it. Never loved a job more. Never a dull moment and I'm busy every moment of every day.

  • I'm 23 and work in admin at a car dealership. I started training for a professional accounts qualification a couple of years ago and have loved every minute of it so far. Although I like my job (most of the time), the car industry is so depressing at the moment! Sometimes I feel the need to move on, especially as I have to work 45-49 hour weeks just to come out with £15.5k. At least with my training I feel I'm making progress so I'll stay put for now =D

Pick a car up, inspect it, do the paperwork, drive it where it needs to go.
    Find my way somewhere else.

Doesn't pay a vast amount, I quite often get up at 4 or 5 in the morning and don't get in til 6 or 7 at night, but the harder you work, the more you earn, you meet some great people, and I !!!!ing love it! :D
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Part-time employed, I head up a team that runs an assessment and benchmarking service in the UK and Asia.

Part-time self-employed as a freelancer in leadership, management and talent development, generally working as an associate through small L&D organisations.

Also do some very very part time editing and proofreading, but only once every two months.

Do I love it? No. But it's okay, it pays very well and I get to work mostly from home, which is a huge advantage.

20, full time student, part time student ambassador for the university, and then I moonlight occasionally (in the holidays, mainly) in the hospitality sector.

I've only just started the student ambassador job, but I think I'll quite enjoy it. I used to enjoy the hospitality sector, but now it's very much a case of having been there, done that, nothing new to learn, so I'm bored (this is despite the fact that as an agency worker I rarely spend more than 2 or 3 shifts in the same workplace). When you add in the fact that as an agency worker I don't have a stable set of colleagues with whom I get along, and the wages aren't great either, it can be a bit grim.

15 years? Are you rich? If not then you should have found a job suited for your disability.

31 and live in carer for spinally injured people. Only doing it to pay off my debts but I do enjoy it too. Its getting me experience so I can go back to uni next year to do Occupational Therapy.

It's a career change for me since i spent the last 10 years in offices!
    In debt no more!
  • 36. I started my career as a software engineer, but three years ago moved into a project management position, never looked back (healthcare sector, but not NHS - worked in medical software/associated healthcare sector work for 11 years in total now). I did work for a while in a Team Lead position as an engineer, but I've found that I prefer managing projects to people by far :T

It's varied, I get to meet lots of interesting people, work on exciting projects, salary and working conditions are good - no complains. If I had to choose my career again it would probably be something that I'd end up hating - you know, working in a horse stable or something, which is amazing at the weekend for a morning but doing it every day probably isn't the fun thing I imagine it to be :rotfl:
