26, just graduated from Uni in Primary Education but no teaching job yet. Current part time job as a special educational needs playworker. Love the job, just wish it was full time. But...can't wait to get into the classroom after a lot of hard work over 3 years at Uni.

69..... and after a long working life in the city - as a para-legal pa, I now work p/t in the local shop - baking the (frozen) bread and cakes and breakfast sizzlers & sausage rolls. And you know what? I can't think when I've enjoyed a job more! On NMW, starting at 6.45 am 4 days a week - and I LOVE it!!!

Tempted to steal some crumbs every now and then? Lol.
  • Mid 30s (thats depressing enough to have to say that now) and work as a contractor - basically will do whatever as long as people are willing to pay my day rate but typically work in project management, strategy or new product development for insurers on contracts of 9 months or longer

Did strategy and project management since early 20s and then went contracting to turn skills into money

Actually no.......by the time I've cooked 'em, wrapped 'em and labelled 'em, they loose their appeal .....unless of course someone happens to bring me in a cup of coffee as the almond & cherry danish are cooling down - then out comes my purse and bang goes the diet!
  • I'm 44 in a couple of weeks and care for my disabled child. I also volunteer for the local community centre, where I'm on the management board. I'm a Guider with Rainbow and Brownie units, and tonight we're having a disco with other units in our district.

My daughter is 21 and is a residential support worker for the elderly. She works in a retirement village and loves it. Although she is at the bottom of the ladder, she is hoping to stay in her profession (and her company) for a long time yet, maybe progressing firther as she gets older. She earns a decent wage compared to most care workers, and there are opportunities for training. She also volunteers for Rainbows and Brownies, missing one night a month when she is on a late shift.
