  • so what was the problem with it ? i never have a prob with tech support or any callouts (but then i haven't had to call them out)
There is a small diameter pipe (bypass?) one the rear of the Divertor valve. The clip wasn't fitted properly and it had blown out under pressure. I had to remove the pump to get to it. Even then it was fiddly. I'm off to PHEX next week so I intend to visit the Remeha stand to let them know how I feel...
  • yes i know the one you mean & yes it is the bypass, i know it must have been a hassle for you but hardly the end of the world as some would make out, clips sometimes don't get fitted correctly or it could have come lose in transit, i'm not trying to make excuses but these things do sometimes happen
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

  • I have NEVER had an out of box failure on any other boiler I've fitted. I also never explained the reason why I stopped fitting them the first time.
A boiler I fitted started making a noise after being fitted 6 months. The Heateam engineer informed my customer it needed a Powerflush. When I installed the boiler it had been flushed and a magnetic filter installed. I dropped a sample of water out of the filter. It was very clean - I'd have drunk it. The Baxi engineer was call out again and shown the sample. "OK, I just think he's been unlucky mate", he told my customer. Unlucky! Yeah unlucky that I installed a Remeha. The next response from the engineer was a classic. "What I'll do is leave you with a main heat exchanger and a dhw heat exchanger. Get your installer back to install them". Err...NO! That's what a warranty is for! That's your job.
Mightily upset I went straight to the rep and put a flee in her ear. "Sort it now or no more boilers from me". The customer still has the 2 HE's that the engineer left. The boiler is working OK now though.
I never fitted another Remeha until this week. I should have stuck to the old adage, "Once bitten, twice shy...."
  • sorry to hear that & obv i can't comment on what the prob was, but like i said i've been fitting them for yrs & i don't get any probs with them

  • The Ideal Logic range is a good boiler, people, and really I mean heating engineers are feared of the Ideal because the Isar was a dog. I have fitted lots of both these boilers, the Worcester is over priced and after several years will develop leaks on the plastic water sections, and my experience of Worcester is they are arrogant. The Logic is fine and the Logic + has the 7yr warranty, go with that, its british
  • what about the logic's leaking hex's that are starting to show themselves aready, 7 yr warrenty is nearly as funny as watching them trying to wriggle out of why they aren't going to honor it, cheap crap boiler

What are you basing your statement that the WB plastic water sections will leak on?

WB although owned by Bosch are also British and manufacture and supply the majority of their product solely in the UK.

As for over priced you get what you pay for and all German manufactured products are more expensive than others
Bosch - Siemens- VW - Mercedes etc

Once again i should point out that current regulation states a "whole system upgrade" should be carried out, and the OP is clearly only considering this as an upgrade of the boiler and requires costings as such!

A system upgrade as should be applied is likely to be far more expensive!
